Nations: Duchy of Savoyard: One of the four major nations in the human world. A naval power, but quite short on land and soldiers. It also controls a significant archipelago of islands near other ports, making it quite a wealthy nation by trade, since anyone who wars with the Duchy often sees its ports blockaded. Ishgardia Papacy: A religious monarchy ruled by a Pope, Ishgardia has the largest army on the continent. A lot of flatland makes the Ishgardia Cavalry the most feared on the continent. Sartag Khanate: A nomadic nation that is recently settling in after defeating the Duchy of Savoyard in battle, they have fought a lot of demons, and while less urbanised than other nations, they are very skilled in cavalry (though not as armoured as the Ishgardians) and at fighting demons. Republic of Widania A recent popular revolution overthrew a monarchy recently. A mountainous nation that relies a lot on direct democracy to get laws passed, Widania rarely wars with anyone else or gets involved in politics outside its borders. Kingdom of Loris: Built on the remains of the empire that once encompassed the entire mainland, Loris lost its holdings one by one throughout history for a variety of different reasons, from rebellion, to religion, to corruption, and even to oversights of law. While not as wealthy as the other nations, it is the most geographically defensible and has the most disciplined army on the continent. The nation is heavily steeped in tradition and religious practice, but holds many ancient records.
