@Iluvatar, everything looks good to me, except a couple of details. It's only been 40 years since man fell, so your Council members would be knowingly descended from somebody, or, still that somebody. 

Also, we've done away with the undead idea, and swapped it for something a little less fantastical. I'd suggest you re-read the story, and make any changes you feel you need to. Lemme know when you're happy for me to take another look.

" is able to amass vast amounts of resources compared to various other states" ... it's kind of saying, "my nation can produce LOADS AND LOADS OF STUFF, WAY MORE THAN YOU GUYS," which I don't inherently have a problem with, but someone no doubt will. Just erm, I don't know, dull it down a little. Something like "is one of the main producers of raw materials", that way it leaves breathing room.
