Vires father was a career military man, who, at Vires birth, was a high ranking general charged with the defense of the Minos Wasteland colonies, alongside a handful of admirals and generals. Because of his father's status, Vires was expected to grow up to be of equal importance. While most would consider it a daunting task to live in the shadow of a military giant, Vires took it upon himself to live up to those expectations. At a young age, Vires' mother, Taeya, enlisted the greatest personal teachers for Vires, to give him the best chance at success. The greatest scholars, mathematicians and historians worked with Vires all day, for seven days a (human) week, to give him the knowledge he would require to grow up and be somebody. As soon as he was physically able, Vires began training in the use of firearms with the local frontiersmen. When it was apparent that Vires had learned all he could from non-military firearms experts, General Decius had an ex-training sergeant hired and sent to his family on the Invictus colony. This man, Cassus, became Vires's inspiration. Cassus was able to bring Vires training regime to new heights, not only teaching him how to properly use firearms but also hand to hand martial arts, knife fighting, and the use of explosives. While most species would not allow such extremes to be taken when preparing a non-adult, the Turians couldn't care less: in fact, such devotion was expected. The children of greats were expected to be great as well. Vires, while excelling in his training, was considered a socially awkward introvert. He had very little informal contact with anyone outside of his family gene. This inadvertently led to Vires no longer relying on interaction with other sentient beings, a skill pivotal for the special operations soldier he was to become. The birthday Vires was old enough to enlist, his gift consisted of being transported to the recruitment office as soon as it opened. He signed up as a marine, and after a tear-less goodbye to his mother, was off to boot camp. For most Turians, boot camp is a grueling, torturous thing that most despise the moment they arrive. But not Turians like Vires. Turians who had lived their whole lives to prove that they were as good as their parents. Boot camp was just another chance to improve, nothing more. Vires met his lifelong friends at boot camp, in fact. The ten of them would become the original 22nd Lightning Psychos. At graduation, the temporary squads that had been established during training were given their official names and assigned to their posts. The 22nd found itself serving onboard a Turian cruiser on the edge of Terminus space, where they protected major trading posts and trade lanes from pirates. Vires saw considerable action during his four tours of duty aboard this cruiser, and this is where the majority of his squad's recommendations for Blackwatch status came from. The nail on the head, however, was when the cruiser crash landed on a planet in the Faryar system, located in the Hourglass Nebula. Most of the crew died on impact, including one member of the Lightning Psychos. While the Turians awaited rescue, the Lightning Psychos led the defense of the makeshift Turian camp, alongside one other surviving combat squad. Numerous attacks from a pirate base on a nearby moon failed to penetrate the defenses manned by the Psychos, and Vires himself claimed hundreds of kills during the months of near constant attacks. Vires later learned that the pirates were after the cruiser's secret cargo of experimental weapons of mass destruction. When the squad was rescued, only seven had survived. Those seven were bestowed the highest honors, and their squad was given the chance to train further and become a special operations Blackwatch squad. They accepted. For the past twelve years, Vires has served alongside the 22nd Lightning Psychos in the most dangerous missions Blackwatch has ever sent their teams on. Vires has watched countless men die, and only he and two other of the original Lightning Psychos remain. This has earned the three of them the nickname 'The Immortal Trio.' Some of the more religious members of the Lightning Psychos believe their unit's spirit has some special plan for the three warriors. In recent years, two years ago, percisely, Vires became the squad's leader. He leads them with the discipline and honor expected of a Turian; yet Vires is not satisfied. He will never be satisfied with being a mere soldier. Vires still dreams of becoming a general, much like his aging father.
