Hal waited a few more moments before he dared to speak. "Thank you, they would've had me for sure if not for you." He tried to sit up a little, but stopped as soon as the pressure inside his skull increased with the action. It seemed he bumped his head harder than he had imagined. With a strained grunt he lowered himself again, to ease the pain. It was starting to get harder to keep his eyes open and for a moment there he thought his vision was swimming. "Can I ask your name?" His dry throat disfiguring the sound into a dry rasp, barely louder than a whisper. The bass making it sound like someone was grounding boulders together.
