Crimson asked the nurse where Alex was and walked back there once the nurse tested to make sure she wasn't drugged either. Even though it was highly unlikely she was anyway the only drug that really afacts a ghoul is a drug with no name. If it enters a ghouls body though they loose the ability to use their Kagune, then their bodies physically become weak and can be cut like a human's body.
