I know this will be low down on the list of stuff to do, but it would be cool to see how many views a thread has. So like if I post something in the interest forum, and it has lots of views but no replies then I know that it's not a good idea, rather than just no one saw it yet :)

It does not look like this one has been listed unless I completely missed it, but being able to view ALL of a members posts rather than just the last 8 or whatever the number is. If I get someone interested in an idea that I post about and want to go back and browse their previous writings to get a feel if we might be a good match or not, really can't do that if their last 8 posts all happened to be non-RP related.

I was thinking of a section where people post there RP ideas and people help work and flesh it out. I have many ideas but I don't really present it in a way that attracts people. It is just an idea but I think it could b helpful even more so for those who are busy but want there ideas to get stronger before going for the interest check. I don't think the interest check area is the best place for that. I have a few in mind, those few which I will turn into books or at least one will become a book. In a way your idea is expanding through discussion and becomes a group or whoever is involved idea and so credit is given if such a thing is set up but I can see holes being pointed out.

Actually, you can indeed do that in the interest check section. It's not the conventional way of doing things, but I've seen it done a few times with success.

However, if you feel uncomfortable with that, you could always try out the Roleplay Discussion area. The description for the section states "Discussion related to roleplaying and GMing," and I would say fleshing out ideas is certainly related to roleplaying and GMing.

I saw this on a forum and wondered if we could use it as well. It is not necessary or important but it goes by so quickly that I know that person has been permabanned before I see the word(s) below ones username.

I think I remember back when the old guild was up they were going to change it or thinking about changing it, I am sure it came up. I think it is better then what we have now assuming it is the same as the old guilds or the words Banned.

If there is a better one then maybe we could use that one but so far I have only seen that one.

Hmm, just tossing this out there. I have NO idea how Mahz has it set up on the backend, but I just wanted to take a minute to toss a possible solution to this. Assuming Mahz is using a MySQL database (not sure about the other ones, all my database work is with MySQL) he might could change the field for the text from a type of "TEXT" to a type of "MEDIUMTEXT" technically raising the storage limit of that field from 65,535 bytes (~16KB) to 16,777,215 bytes (~16MB) he could then write some nice code to cap the text box at 100,000 characters or whatever amount he wanted, or even leave it so people could write up to 16,777,215 characters (I am thinking of you advanced writers that like to write novels for a post xD). Anyways again its just a thought.

Right now, Mahz is too busy to work on improving the Guild, but it might be something he'll work on in the future.

I'm posting here to let people know the first post has been edited in order to keep up with the numerous additions Mahz has been able to take care of. He is accepting thoughts and ideas in his other thread in the News section but this might be a viable place to get things kicked back into gear as well.

Yeah, as Jorick's signature says, he's moved on to another forum. So that's me updating the OP. :) He did an amazing job on this thread. One of my priorities right now is to improve the Guild's social aspects. Keeping in touch with people needs to be much easier, and there needs to be more avenues to do so. More ways to express yourself and communicate too, like a "like" system for posts, visitor messages, and PMs. Someone recently pointed out Iwaku's "like" system which uses this Xenforo plugin: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/post-ratings-taking-likes-to-the-next-level.410/. Much more interesting than the simple upvote system I had first started implementing. Though I've come up with better ratings than those lame defaults. I hope

Speaking of reaching other players, are you going to bring back the member list anytime soon? Being able to organize it by join date (good if I wanted to post visitor messages to the new users), post amount and any other thing you can think of besides the default of ordering it by username might be good to impliment as well.

@TheMaster99 actually just submitted a patch for this: https://github.com/danneu/guild/pull/26 (I think it's just sorted alphabetically right now, but an option to sort by join-date is a good idea) I will review and merge it once I've cleared my plate of my current work.

we might try to do another reorganization of the OP in this thread, Mahz. there are certain areas we didn't do a too-good job the first time around.
