**Setting** The planet of Alternative Earth 12, year 2035. It's like our earth but in an alternate reality where magic exists and the level of technology has advanced enough to create androids, cyborgs, genetic manipulation to give animals human-like intelligence (called anthromals), and also a race of humans with animal ears and tails (called humals). Oh, and angels and demons have physical, mortal bodies and are currently roaming the earth doing what they do best, interfering with Earthly affairs. And one last thing; aliens do exist and they may be out to get us. **The all important All-Life Achiever ** The crowning achievement of the human race is known as the All-Life Achiever, a massive device that has an artificial island built around it. It's able to generate a magical barrier of invincibility onto any subject it desires within the confines of the island, which can include by default every last living thing there. It doesn't provide any actual defensive properties besides the following three things. 1. It dulls pain to bearable levels. Getting bashed with a hammer is like stubbing your toe. Minor wounds still hurt like normal, only getting reduced pain for the more harmful attacks. 2. It doesn't allow disfigurement. If someone cuts through your arm, for example, the wound would just glow/sparkle brightly and leave the arm intact with the rest of your body (although limp). The same goes for things such as stabbing someone, the wound just glows and sparkles while causing no actual long lasting damage. Once the glowy sparkles disappear they reveal the damaged body part as good as new within 24 hours for the most severe of injuries, the paper cut sized wounds restored within minutes. 3. It doesn't allow people to die from battle damage. It only knocks them unconscious from would be death blows for around 24 hours. Even if it's not an attack that would kill them as a result of a physical strike, it can still protect against any form of battle death. For example, if you get strangled then the sparkly energy fills your lungs and keep you alive, only passed out as per normal death blow rules. It doesn't protect against things like cancer, old age, etc, so people can't just travel to the island to gain immortality from natural causes. **Backstory** A certain group on alternative earth 12 has detected an incoming alien force that will arrive in time to start an invasion by next year, gaining such knowledge 99 years ago. They barely fought off only 58 aliens five hundred years ago and some of them even managed to escape and go into hiding, appearing to look like normal humans. They knew that they would be no match for a large scale invasion in their current state so needed a new breed of heroes to combat this threat. This spurred into motion a secret program called Operation Super Combative. They first genetically combined animal and human dna to create the andromals and humals. Although they were powerful, they needed more help. Then came the super enhanced humans, called SE sometimes but most of the time are just known as humans and regarded as such, the existence of super powers considered just a part of being human. They were created through serums gained from alien blood, which effected people in different ways both from the alien who's blood was taken and the human in question, who is inserted with the serum while still a baby in order for it to bond with them and take maximum effect. Babies determined to be able to bond the most due to genetic testing are a hot commodity. Due to males and females having equal chance, dependent only on the individual, they are both equally represented in this secret program. The program has been in effect for most of the 100 year preparation time, although most of the people who have seen the most success happened around 18 years ago, making most of the useful SE around that age or lower, although some exceptions to the rule exist in some older individuals who either got lucky or just very good at bonding with the serum on their own accord even with a worse off technique implementing the procedure. As part of a training program, that's where All-Life Achiever came into play, allowing those involved in Operation Super Combative to fight their hearts out against other powerful threats and not die, all secretly in preparation for the alien menace. The creator of the island, known only as The Creator, hands out invitations to live on the island to such people or other useful individuals who might not need super powers. A constant state of combat was encouraged by keeping the different groups of inhabitants fractured under many different small governments that the inhabitants themselves had to instate. They fought over territory, which he allowed them to do under certain rules of war. The Creator handed out flags to each recognized group on the island. To become recognized they need to have at least 20 people and established territory. The war then became like capture the flag, a group's territory taken by whoever managed to capture that group's flag and bring it to their home base that stores the flag. The Creator wishes to see if a group will be strong enough to overcome all others and take complete control over the island, in which case they'd likely be able to overcome even the alien threat. The most important of the Creator's rules are as follows: 1. No tampering or otherwise taking advantage of down time in the All-Life Achiever. This can only be done by approved individuals for approved situations such as removing the effect on animals to hunt. 2. You may not torture. Even if severe pain is impossible, smaller pain over long periods of time or mental trauma can still easily be counted as torture. 3. You may not specifically target buildings or people not involved in the conflict. If enemy combatants enter a building then it becomes a valid target. Military buildings can always be targeted even if unoccupied. Damage unjustly done must be paid by the offending group. 4. You must wear a reasonably visible combat insignia on your person to participate in combat. However, you can always defend yourself. 5. No detaining of individuals of other groups for longer than a week unless they have committed a crime deemed worthy of longer imprisonment. They are protected under the rules of war, so if they abide by them they cannot be counted as criminals for combat activity. 6. If your flag is stolen you can fight as rebels but do not officially own the territory you once held any more until the flag is returned. 7. You may willingly give your flag to another group. 8. The Creator can declare a flag invalid, allowing their territory to be taken by other groups how they see fit. This is done if the group as a whole has done something worthy of such punishment. 9. You can leave the island at any time if desired, in which case must be let go unless you committed a serious offense. You cannot return to the island, however. 10. If you gain complete control of the island you will gain a great prize by the Creator. **Groups** The following are major groups on the island, but far from the only ones. Think of the larger ones like countries with their own systems of government in place. You can make your own factions for approval. Highbell- A generic main hero kingdom that allows all manner of people as citizens and treats them fairly. Although mostly human due to relatively more humans around, they have around as many as 20% made up of those of other races, including androids. They have a healthy balance of technology, magic, etc. Vurtan Empire - A stereotypical bad guy place. The humans are better off than the other races who are treated more like manual labor. Demonia - A land of demons. Relies more on magic than technology. Angiles - A land of angels. Relies more on magic than technology. Whiel Cattan - The animal kingdom (pun intended) made up mostly of anthromals and followed by humals. They do allow some of other races as well but not a lot. They rely more on brute strength than technology. Technatus - An android ruled state where they all vote electronically together on issues, based on the good of the collective. They allow outsiders in who follow their rules. **Battle System** The most physically powerful individuals (of any race) can jump as high as buildings, move in the blink of an eye, and punch through steel walls. We don't need to get into high levels of detail on exact level of powers, we'll just agree who's faster, stronger, etc. and by around how much (like a lot faster, a little bit stronger, etc.) and fit that into how the battle goes without stressing too much about it. Some people are only around normal human abilities all the way up to this most powerful examples, leaving a wide gap of power between canon fodder and the elite. Our characters can be among the elite but you are perfectly welcome to have some low level mook characters running about trying to "survive" the chaos. Just normal swings of an elite's weapon can blow people around like rag dolls if they are weak. There are various magical abilities that you can have. I won't say what you can and can't do at the moment, we'll just see once everyone posts their character if everyone feels that it will be an acceptable and fun character to fight. That being said, even time stopping powers might not be banned depending on how well you balance such abilities to make the battle still enjoyable for everyone. The battles go like this: You post your reaction to your opponent's attack and then unleash an attack of your own if possible. Pretty simple. To start a battle, just get everyone involved to say they want to battle and head off to the IC to fight in a battlefield of your choosing. It doesn't have to be anywhere close to the flag because most of the time the territories are defended well enough to stop attacks before they get there. **Rules** 1. Your character must be approved by everyone involved in the battle as a character they want to fight. 2. You are not limited to a single character if your opponents likewise are fine with you having more. 3. No god modding stuff you should already know about such as controlling their character and killing them in your own post, not giving them a chance to react in their post. However, if your opponents are fine with it, if your character specifically has a power to control their opponents then it would be fine in that instance. 4. Don't keep your opponents waiting for more than three days or else they can skip your character's reaction and go to the hit that would come about as a result of the last attack you failed to respond in time too. However, if you inform us of your absence ahead of time then it's common courtesy to wait for them. 5. If an argument cannot be settled between the involved parties then you can go to everyone else in this thread to ask for an opinion on how to settle it. However, this is mainly battles for fun and should not be taken too seriously. 6. Don't post only one liners. There's no way you could get adequate information down in that time unless it's a run-on sentence. 7. If you post inadequate information in your post then your opponent can ask for clarification. For example, if you just say "I ran and attacked you". If you don't explain yourself within 3 days then they can assume whatever they want to reasonably make of what is written and react accordingly. **Character Sheet** Name: Age: Gender: Race: Alliance: (The group they are a part of) Appearance: (Can be written or image) Personality: Powers: (Don't spring out random powers mid battle unless it's stated they can do so, which few people would want to fight) Equipment: **Accepted Characters** [Alexander Hertz (Played by ImportantNobody)](http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/75570/posts/char#post-2337704)

Alright Horrid, you still there? We've been discussing it via Chatzy, and we'll probably do Morrigan and Vlades vs Leo and Ralpho if you're up for it. That's the best available battle right now, and should be pretty cool.

Is it just me or is it hilarious to picture Chii kicking Vlades butt? Anyways, I'll get the IC going tomorrow. Any preferences where we fight and why? Maybe the empire is expanding it's territory into the animal kingdom borders.

I'm up for it. I could see Morrigan leading a squad or force to push into animal kingdom territory, so you go for it.

We can have random cannon fodder with us at the start of the battle that the other side can wipe out at will.

The Vurtan Empire is the Imperium? Yes please. Whiel Cattan's forces would be various anthromals and some humals. Mostly smaller/weaker species, like these badger warriors, because large species like bears and elephants are likely to be player-controlled elites. They may have more modern equipment as well, but i imagine most prefer melee weapons due to their physical upgrades. Plus it fits their theme.

Well then Death Korps it is then. Where would we all stand in rank and relation to the other troops? Just other grunts or are we leaders?

Depends on the character. They may be commanders or just elite soldiers following orders, depending on their personality and the level of might equals authority that their faction employs. I don't know to what extent those on the island might be receiving orders from the mainland, which would affect the power hierarchy, so we'll have to ask Nobody that. Leo is probably a field commander or such, cause i imagine the forces of Whiel Cattan have a tendency of following the largest and fiercest animals, like lions. But he would get orders from higher up as well, i'm sure.

I don't think most of these alliances would be considering outside orders. I forgot to mention, but mooks wielding swords and mooks wielding guns would be equally effective.

I believe Drake means to come in a tad late as is appropriate for his character, so for now you're free to post again, Horrid.

Horrid, i took the liberty of assuming the Arms are of alien origin, since that's the primary source of superpowers in this world. Just correct me if i'm wrong.

Yeah that works, I hadn't actually come up with an origin for them. Was going to leave it ambiguous, but alien was near the top of the list.
