People call it "gay" because they're ignorant in multiple ways. One being they think "gay" or "girly" are insults to begin with and two being they only know anything about one sports in general because they're 'Murican. Besides, baseball doesn't involve contact of any kind and it's not seen the same as soccer or volleyball or the like
