Even though Nicole was irritated by Astrid for leaving the door open wide she herself ended up forgetting to close it behind her as she was far too focused on finding her roommate and giving her a good scolding. Hypocrite much. As Nicole stepped into Astrid’s room she instantly cleared her throat as she got ready to let Astrid have it but before she could even exhale Astrid had beaten her to the punch. Her bloodshot eyes widened in shock as she watched Astrid lit a match and then hold up against her skin. What the fuck? Before she could make a response her roommate continued on with her ‘performance.’ Nicole stood next to door looking like a stunned mullet unclear what was happening before her. Well, she knew exactly what she was seeing. It was pretty clear, but it didn’t make sense. It was unfeasible. Unrealistic. Unnatural. Nicole shook her head thinking she must be tripping because this could not be real. What kind of weed did I smoke? This wasn’t the first time she had mixed substances but never had a trip felt so realistic when it clearly was an illusion. No one can manipulate fire. No way!. She shook her head in disbelief. Floyd must’ve laced the weed with something because it was humanly impossible for your skin not to burn underneath a naked flame. Although Astrid had begun pose questions at her Nicole remained silent and stationery. She was far too busy trying to make sense of it to answer her overly excited roommate. But before she could come to a satisfying conclusion were she didn’t sound completely nuts in walks some random girl claiming she is the same as Astrid. Suddenly out of nowhere something dark rose up from the floor. “Whoa! Whoa! Whoa…” Her hands went up as if she was showing a police officer she had nothing in them. Panic had set it. This trip or whatever this is it was becoming too overwhelming for Nicole. “Get the fuck away from me…” she shouted as she shoved the strange out of the way so she could escape out the room. Her breathing became heavier as her heart raced a millions miles an hour. She rushed out of the bedroom and straight into the bathroom locking the door behind. “Holy shit…” Nicole muttered as she splashed her face with water hoping to wake herself up from this hallucination. As she looked up at her reflection in the mirror she found herself once again frozen in position. Unable to think. Her heart racing. Her chest pounding. Her vision blurring as she struggled to catch her breath. It was all just a figment of your imagination. She told herself. Her eyes vacant and her facial expression blank. Nicole started to feel lightheaded whilst her mind tried to comprehend what she had just witness. Unexpectedly she quickly shifted away from the sink and towards the shower. Turning the taps on she stepped right underneath the cold water without bothering to take her clothes or her shoes off. She was more concerned with stopping the aching in her chest and calming herself down before she ends up having a heart attack. Nicole closed her eyes as she exhaled deeply “it’s just your imagination,” she mumbled to herself.
