Large metropolis divided into various unofficial ethnic sectors. Founded 63 AF. Population: 1 million. Area: 65,000 km[sup]2[/sup]. Ruled Entirely by the Imperial Parliament.
Lower Oderim
Farming estates owned by three noble houses: the Donics, the Jameths, and the Gaiths. These are some of the strongest political houses in Odonica, and have intense rivalries. Founded 100 AF. Population: 500,000. Area: 75,000 km[sup]2[/sup].
Upper Oderim
"Land of one hundred castles"; ruled by exactly 100 nobles with small, pleasant manor-houses dotting it's hills. Various universities have also sprung up, most notably the Oderim University of Chemiks. Founded 150 AF. Population: 450,000. Area: 60,000 km[sup]2[/sup].
Isovar
A mostly military island, home to some of the world's best instructors and military academies. Famous ones include the Isodar Military Academy of Martial Arts, the Odo Institute of Weapons Training, and the Odek War Academy. Also populated by general's villas, a few manor houses, and some forests. Founded 210 AF. Population: 450,000. Area: 60,000 km[sup]2[/sup].
Revik
An experimental prison colony with the prisoners as peasants, and various recently appointed nobles as wardens and feudal chiefs. Cities created by the prisoner's sons and daughters are beginning to spring up. Founded 310 AF. Population: 300,000. Area: 30,000 km[sup]2[/sup]. Population: 3,150,000
Government
Imperial Republic, only Odonican citizens can vote. Parliament appoints a Director to lead on a 10-year term. Parliament members have terms of 12 years. 51 members serve on parliament, 10 from each province, and 1 Director. The Director may veto and override bills, but may be impeached by a majority vote of parliament. Odonica was founded on this system, as it broke away from the monarchial Axphirmian empire. Woman, Men, and sons and daughters of couples that have one citizen parent can vote at the age of 15 cycles.
Economy

Exports
Granim (wheat), fibis (cotton), Northern cannons, and artisan items.
Imports
Rithmiar, Kion (titanium, used in place of iron), and tonov (White, cement-like liquid stone. Primary building material)
Foreign Relations

Allied Nations

Enemy Nations

History

0-100 AF
The Odonican isles were at first explored by both Axphrimian and Gulshav Explorers. The Gulshav disliked that there was little room for their cavalry, and decided it ould best be used to send dishonorable chiefs to throw themselves at the Axphirmians. The Axphirmians were highly superior at naval combat, and managed to carve out the most precious lands, middle Oderim (Odon) for themselves. The people of Odon were cultural revolutionaries, and clashed with the traditionalist monarchy. In 63 AF, a coalition of revolutionary thinkers native to the Odonican Isles broke away from the Axphrimian Monarchy. Exiled Gulshav chiefs still ruled the area, but through a long war of naval blockades and eventually cannons they finally conquered the Lower Oderim.
101-200 AF
Odon was beginning to form two governments: a Parliament and a Nobility. Through this century, Parliament gained more and more power while the nobility became rich figureheads. Upper Oderim was taken in 150 AF, and they finally had dominion of Oderim. Odon grew into a sprawling metropolis, home and refuge to high-minded thinkers and revolutionaries.
201-300 AF
The 3rd century after the fall saw the conquering of Isodar, and a major buildup of the Odonican Navy. Isodar would serve as a major naval base. Odonica declared war on various northern islands and looted them, then force them into serfdom. This century oversaw the military buildup of Odonica.
301-325 AF
New styles of clothing have come about, and the province of Revik was founded. New styles include colored togas (The Director's wife now wears a violet toga on state holidays) and the black suitcoat. Pocket watches are now fashionable. Revik is the first mainland continental colony in Odonican history. It is kept going only by threats of extreme naval warfare.
Religion/Customs
They pray for favors from Atem, which is essentially fate. Atem struggles constantly against his comic reflection, Meta. They pray that Atem will choose to shield them from Meta rather than shield their enemies. Their customs include always wearing one clothing article of violet and wearing circlets of the highest quality they can afford. It is a sign of respect to remove your circlet to someone. Men typically dress like Christopher Columbus, but women dress in roman togas. Suitcoats are a new fashion, and woman are beginning to wear colored togas.
Military
One of the first nations in the world to outfit their ships with cannons, they usually with go to the coastline of a warring country, bombard the costal cities, then plunder and make slaves of the residents. This is how they typically get their Rimthiar. They have one of the best navies in the world, thanks to their expert gun-crafters and reinforced ship armor/sails. Rumor has it they will unleash alchemical cannons and muskets that can blow up even bigger things, or put a city in stasis so they can loot it then run away. Unfortunately, they suck majorly at land battles. That is why it took them a century to conquer their own continent from savages.
Technology
They invented the Northern cannon, an upgrade from the old Eastern cannon (of Avtarian design). The eastern cannon worked by putting two cannonballs in and exploding the first one inside of the cannon (coated in expensive kion and Rithmiar), thus propelling the second toward the enemy, where if it hit a certain point on the ball it would explode. The northern cannon worked by putting a singular aerodynamic piece of explosive ammo inside the cannon, closing it, then simultaneously igniting the ammo and pushing it out at 330 kmph. They also invented ship armor and a miniature version of the northern cannon, the Northern musket.
Strengths

Naval Geniuses
Their military academies train only the most top-notch naval commanders. They tend not to conquer anything other than islands, but they gain more than enough bounty by forcing tribal coast cities into serfdom.
Culturally Adaptive
It is part of their constitution not to persecute citizens based on their ideas. As such, they have one of the youngest voting ages (the equivalent of 16 years), a thriving culture, and a large entrepreneurial community.
Weaknesses

Slow to act
They are known to be a somewhat slow-moving government, as with 6 parties and the Director having to not piss more than 50% of Parliament off, domestic acts are usually hard to pass.
Land Losers
They are terrible at conquering and keeping landmasses, especially ones not near a coast. Revik is nearly impossible to maintain, and has survived only because of the threat of naval takeover. Their cannons are of some help, but not much against well trained armies marching toward their mainland outposts.
