The lord of the land's word is law. Anyone who questions that should be put in their place. The Queen and her sister are the most important people in the country and he will die protecting them to mend the mistake of not being able to protect them from the enemy. He would love to be the one to gut Ovorion like the pig he is, but he would provide the Queen with the ability to do so, so that she might keep the honor. Anyone who threatens her deserves to be punished and he will hurt anyone who so much as touches them in a way that is meant to be harmful. Role/Title: Knight Commander History: Mawblack was born and raised by the sword. His grandfather joined the army during the first of the Silverspring line, and his father continued to serve after that, so it was only fit that he would serve as well. Before he got anywhere near commander, he was a foot soldier, put on the field to fight. There was more than enough skirmishes on the far end towns, the ones near the mountains and the crags, ones that needed to be reminded that they were not the ones that got to make the big decisions. His military career began with King Silverspring. The princesses had not even been born yet, the marriage had been barely consummated. He fought hard, followed orders like it was the very essence of his being. His king was one that actually would go onto the battle field and fight with his troops, and the queen would easily maintain the castle in his absence, having been raised in the politics. They worked like they were just always meant to rule as a single body. Rhysln began learning the politics a few years before her parents died. She was going to be just like her mother, that's what she wanted. And Mawblack watched her grow, got to know the young princess, being told he'd most likely be her guardian because of how much her parents trusted him. He did what he could to keep that trust, to prove he was worth the honor they were giving him. Then his beloved leaders died. And his charge was thrust in to a world she had only just gained the bearings on what the world expected from her. He swore to her that he would keep her safe, so her only worry needed to be getting a grip on the politics. She was flourishing, gaining the trust, trying to fix things not even her parents hadn't gotten the chance to start on yet. She worked as hard as she could, almost to tears when the implications that she couldn't fix everything.... that she wouldn't be as good as her mother set in. But there was nothing he could do to protect her from that. He tried to teach her strategies, tell her ways that she could approach things better, but her own sense of worth couldn't be mended by that kind of thing. Then Ovorion came in. He crushed her dreams, her work. And Mawblack failed her. He, Blayze, and Rand failed their leaders. And he would live with that shame even after they restored her to her throne. When they got to the village at first, he gave Rhysln her basic trainings. They were going in turns to search for recruits, for help. Each time, his princesses seemed to be stronger and more resolved. Rhysln was becoming, in his opinion, more like a combination of her parents, and he hoped that her resolve to gain her country back would give her the courage she once seemed to lack. Anything extra: He isn't going to be pleased when he realizes neither of his subordinates bothered to think that one of them should have stayed in Farthing with the queen and princess.
