Takeshi just had no idea how to explain Shu's question, and that was frustrating to him. He was the one that was supposed to explain things to the little guy, and when he came up short he got really ticked. Not much he could do about it now, probably would have to ask Vegeta for a better explanation. Glancing over at Shu sadly when he basically had told his brother off he let out a sigh, wondering how he could make it up to the little guy. They had some time to kill before dinner, so maybe some exploring around the city would do some good. They could go see whatever Shu wanted to, he'd probably like that. Hardly having voiced the opinion a few seconds earlier Shu took to the idea like bees to honey, darting off down the hallway without any warning. Sighing he looked over at Haku exasperatedly before shrugging his shoulders, the two of them chasing after Shu. "Hang on Shu, we don't want to get lost!" Takeshi shouted, trying to stop Shu from going the wrong way. It was left up here, right? Since they had come out of the throne room on the right they probably needed to head left to get back to the gates. "Shu, take a left up ahead!" "They've been through a lot then, hm? I bet they've been part of that war the Saiyans are fighting," Renthal mused, pouring a bit of the disinfectant onto a cloth. "I heard the Queen speaking about that, apparently your friends had mentioned it before. Nasty business, I can't imagine the kind of wounded those fights create." As the doctor in the palace part of his job was tending not just to the royal family, but to troops as well. Over the course of this last power struggle he had seen all sorts of injuries, yet they had all been done by weapons. If what he heard was true and Saiyans could shoot one another with strange power then there were goodness knows what kinds of wounds. It was nice the Prince had found friends, but perhaps he was better off trying to make friends with Kaesstrians. "Maybe your falling down isn't a problem for you, but do you know what your mother would do to me if she found out?" Renthal asked, frowning as he grabbed T'charrl's arm and began swabbing it. "If she learned I had let you collapse on my watch she'd be hysterical, and I like my head attached to my shoulders. At any rate you're going to feel a small pinch boy, so hold still." With syringe in hand he isolated a vein, carefully pricking through the skin and sticking the needle in. Drawing up a small portion of blood he removed the needle, offering new gauze to be held over the mark. "Stay here while I take a look." "It's not that much of a long shot, honestly. All we would need to do is enable your body to generate Ki, which we could do by imbedding some of your own cells with that potential. So long as they take and begin to spread then you'd have access to Ki. With your naturally hastened healing abilities we could create a small superficial wound, apply the cells and they should disperse in a matter of moments. Granted it would be a short while until we actually know if anything has happened, but it is plausible." It was an ambitious task, one that was perhaps a bit out of his expertise. Should they decide to try and give Viral Ki it would require an awful lot of careful work, work that perhaps only his father was fit to do. For now they should try to keep the Beastman occupied, long enough to hopefully bring him down from that momentary lapse of focus he'd just had. Returning to the ship would perhaps be the safest course of action, yet that was something Vegeta would much rather avoid. "We want to give you the liberty of deciding so you don't feel confined to our decisions," Vegeta explained plainly, "We're trying to let you make choices as not to make you feel like you have no free will. Think of us as just passengers for the moment, we're only along to do whatever it is you pick." -------------------- Finally, dinner time! All that wandering around the city coupled with chasing Shu in the trees had worked up one hell of an appetite; Takeshi hadn't really eaten all day, so at this point he was near ready to chew his own arm off. On the walk back to the palace he swore his stomach was grumbling loud enough to echo off of the cave walls, and more than once he was tempted to just go to a nearby store and grab something to eat. The others were probably hungry as well, but neither of their stomachs were audibly grumbling. Placing a hand on his stomach Takeshi let out a groan, hanging his head as they moved along. "So hungry... I want food..." he lamented, looking at the ever approaching palace. "A nice big steak... Or a pizza... Ooooh, I miss pizza..." He was all caught up on Earth food again, what was he going to do exactly now that they were on Kaesstra? Fruit, fruit, fruit, that was probably all that would be at dinner tonight. Shu would be in heaven, Haku probably didn't care, but jeez he just wanted a nice plate of meats. Sighing softly he glanced over at Shu, narrowing his eyes before sticking out his tongue childishly. "I wouldn't be so hungry if you didn't make me chase you through half the city, you dope," Takeshi said, groaning again as his stomach grumbled, "Man... This stinks."
