Aaron watched with a grin as Jackson adopted his own version of Aaron's 'fishing stance'. A wave of happiness washed over him as he saw that the others had joined as well; these were brave people. The albino had tackled the game in a more lackadaisical manner than Aaron, but that was pretty normal. Rei had joined them as well, despite his earlier defensive demeanor. When he had introduced himself, Aaron's heart went out to him. He might never completely understand the sort of issues Rei was going through, but he sure as hell could sympathize with being surrounded by people who just didn't get it, or who didn't believe him or take him seriously. Reyna also played the game and seemed to be enjoying herself. Aaron was just about to start instructing Jackson on how to play when the tall guy strolled over and handed the boy the fluffy white dog that he'd just won. Jackson seemed a bit upset as the guy walked away. Aaron opened his mouth to ask him something when the ketchup incident happened. He wanted to step in, but it was over before he could even close the distance between him and the asshats who threw the stuff. Besides, Aaron hated stirring the pot. As Jackson waddled over to the older guy and handed him his prize back, Aaron had to marvel at this kid's sense of morality and understanding. If this was Amy's work, she was doing a damn fine job. Aaron made a mental note to punch anyone who questioned her parenting. When Jackson came back towards the game, Aaron decided to try and get the kid's mind off what had just happened. “Now,” he explained, explaining the game as if he had some secret insider information. “I'll be you want a big toy, right? That means you gotta go for the red ones. They're hard to get, but I bet you can do it.” “I can get 'em!” Jackson announced excitedly, clapping his hands together. “Darn right! Now, the secret...” Aaron said, demonstrating. “...is to keep your elbows bent. And keep your eye on the fishy you want, like watching a baseball comin' your way. The big word for it is 'hand-eye coordination'.” “M'kay.” Jackson said before concentrating on the game. He played as if the fate of the world was hanging in the balance. Aaron played along, his fishing magnet lure close to Jackson's, but not too close. They had both managed to snag a red fishy on their magnets, and Jackson held his up in the air proudly. “I did it, I did it!” “Alright! Nice job! I got one too.” They both went back to fishing, though Aaron was just mostly watching Jackson and cheering him on. He saw him catch a blue fishy and groan in dismay. “Hey, it's cool. You can get a medium prize if you get another blue one.” The attendant said, apparently taking an interest in their efforts. Aaron watched hope fill the little boy's face as he confirmed it. “That's true, you can still get a good one, like that rhino up there.” He pointed to one of the hanging prize holders, which held a decent sized plush rhino. As he said this, Aaron started aiming for one of the blue fishies himself, making sure that he wouldn't win a big prize either if Jackson wasn't going to be able to. He also decided to psych Jackson up a bit, feeling a bit like Ben Kenobi. “Now, focus...the fishy rod is part of you...it's like your very own arm. See that blue fishy?” Jackson nodded quietly, being drawn in with Aaron's commentary. “He's coming around again. Here he comes...” They both watched as it slowly floated towards them, getting closer and closer. “...wait...wait...now!” Aaron joined Jackson again, both of them grabbing blue fishies with their magnets. “I got him!” Jackson shouted, happy beyond all reason. Aaron held up his hand for a high five and Jackson didn't leave him hanging. “Awesome! Let's go show the attendant!” he said. Aaron led strolled over to the attendant, who let them pick both of their prizes. Without hesitation, Jackson pointed to the rhino and said, “That one!” jumping up and down as the attendant handed him the toy rhino with the stubby little horn. “Which one do you want?” Jackson asked Aaron while hugging the rhino. “That one.” Aaron declared, pointing to the one he wanted. The attendant brought it down, and Aaron gladly accepted the plush platypus. “What's that one?” Jackson asked, eyes wide. “It's a platypus.” Aaron answered, showing him. “A plawhat?” “A pladiepoooooose!” Aaron growled exaggeratedly and poked Jackson with the beak of the doll, making him giggle. Once everyone had their fill of the fishy game, Aaron decided to ask the others, “Anybody here like ferris wheels? I was thinking we could go there next.”
