Name: Everett Oannes Gender: Male Age: 18 Personality: Soft-spoken and reserved, Everett appears to have all of the trappings of a well-bred young man. However, a strange, predator aura surrounds him, as his mannerisms have a subtle aggression and swagger to them. Naturally curious, he tends to delve into things best left undisturbed, and yet grows quickly irritated by others looking into his past and circumstances. Defensively private to the point of violence, he has been known to injure people that do not heed his warnings and provoke him. Despite that, he is friendly enough with others, and is well-liked among his peers, possibly due to the mystery surrounding him and his family. Appearance: Tall and well muscled, with thick, dark hair and defined features, Everett's good looks are undoubtedly a contributing factor to his popularity. Even so, there are certain, unsettling qualities to his looks. His sole visible eye has a peculiar yellow color, and his eyepatch is an oddity onto itself. Hints of strange markings on his back are visible on his shoulders, though what actually is there is a complete mystery, as Everett takes great pains to ensure that he is never seen without a shirt. Tether: A total mystery. Ability/Talents: Everett is a low-level telepath, allowing him only the ability to sense others and his surroundings via psychic power, using a form of mental echolocation. This ability works in the dark, underwater, and even when his senses (or anything around him) are obscured by supernatural means. This can also be focused to a single target to produce a psychic pulse strong enough to stun someone for several minutes. Otherwise, Everett is a very fit individual; stronger than he looks, and surprisingly durable. He possesses a certain natural, predatory charisma, which would be called animal magnetism by some people. Lastly, he has all of the benefits of having been raised in a wealthy family: primarily having an allowance that eclipses the salaries of most of his peers' parents. Recent history: The Oannes family is as old as Oakenheim itself, among the town's founders in the Late Colonial period. Said to have initially been gold miners that funded the town's development, and are now industrialists, they are what can be called "old money," and their reputation in Maine precedes them. More than their wealth, they are known for their eccentricism and scandals. Several members of the family throughout the years have been known lunatics, and several more committed suicide, or other grisly crimes. Naturally, the family's money was always present to cover up such events. This trend has continued well into the modern day, as Everett's mother committed suicide soon after he was born, and his father has been a recluse since then. As the scion of the family, many expectations are placed on Everett by the community, but he does his best to live up to them. Despite his personal quirks, he is seen as refreshingly normal compared to his ancestors, and there are high hopes for him in the future. Popular among his classmates for his good looks, charm and wealth, Everett has one switch that must not be flipped, and that is his family. He has no tolerance for anyone attempting to pry into his personal affairs or the history of his family, and several hospitalized individuals (their injuries covered up in bribes, naturally) can attest to this fact.
