Being not much older than forty years of age, Varavana had never experienced Aett or its hellish counterpart. The sudden rush of unique sensation came as a surprise to him, feeling as if his body was beginning to rip its self apart at the metaphorical seams. In almost the same moment he came out from the other side of the ripple, his body morphed and compacted into the much smaller form of a green-feathered owl. Only after the rather sudden transformation did the pain subside. Flight came naturally to Varavana, taking briefly to the air to find an appropriate spot to land. 'What on Ceyr was that...?' The Upstart thought to himself, finding even his vocal capacities reduced, 'It felt like -' he paused in his thought, thinking of a way to describe the ungodly pain to even himself, 'I was being picked apart.' He finished, large yellow eyes squinting in the air. He descended, landing upon the shoulder of Hiraga softly. Of all those present, she was the least likely to swat him after all. The reflective feathers glinted as Varavana turned his head at an almost 180 degree angle to stares back at where they had come from, large eyes blinking. '...This is a different world. I cannot connect with the creatures here.' He concluded upon looking around at the vast forest surrounding them and the creatures just out sight. 'It is a wonder I did not revert into whatever state I was in upon my creation.' An idea that was not completely unappealing to the Upstart, but not something he wanted to discover when surrounded by the others. Varavana looked at the eyes of Hiraga's humanoid form, giving an apologetic tilt of the head. For one such as herself, the simple message of 'sorry' would be easily carried through such a gesture.
