His sword is a mix between a longsword and a rapier. Really, swords have a bunch of the same names and are really confusing. A one handed sword, just like the arming sword would suffice. His off-hand weapon is about the same length as a machete, maybe a bit longer. As for his family named... should I change it? It might seem a bit confusing. It would ruin his amazing name, though.

If you make him related to royalty it'd be all the more material to work with along the way in terms of subplot devices. I say go for it.
