The Legion Collective
Trade lane 875 I-W. Noting the three warships far before they came into the radius of their visual scanners, Legion noted the change in the flow of space traffick so as to avoid their form, but not in such a way as to flee. Considering the trajectory of the warships, they were headed in their direction, but were clearly not going to open fire in the midst of their own lane. With this in their minds, the Collective began its work while the ships closed the distance, the internal structure of their ship rearranging somewhat as they waited. The biological members of Legion had been awoken and after they'd stretched and eaten, an activity which was done more through the absorption of nutrients and a form of processed energy stored by the ship, they headed to what was becoming the ship's Bridge. It was at this time that the warships would have closed the distance and began relaying varies messages, which the Collective almost immediately decoded and processed throughout both their ship's systems and their planetary ones, all of which were quantumly linked. After several short seconds they had almost fully organized the statements into different languages, drawn links between them, and noted the nature of the message itself. However, so as not to intimidate they waited several minutes, the outer portions of the ship shifting slightly so as to reveal windows, layered with null fields and energy shields, for their biological kin. By the time the ship had finished its shifting a minute would have passed and it was two minutes later that a return message was sent in every language stating roughly as follows, as one--no matter their technology and intelligence, cannot glean the entirety of a language from a single phrase, "Greetings. No attacking. Peace" this was followed by a series of raw code of a simplified nature from their own systems, which, when translated, it asked for more language samples. While Legion could have simply utilized this code to communicate, they preferred not to, and so made their simple request. Hopefully the computers of the warships were capable enough to decode their message.
