"Jan. I'm not letting you go by yourself. You're practically signing a death warrant. I'm going with you." He let his voice get a little bit stern to show how serious he was. He waited a moment before adding the last part. "If you or Sam die, I will never forgive myself for letting you go alone. I blame myself for the death of every member since the beginning of this mess and I don't want to add to that list. So please." He was begging in a way. Begging in a commanding way. Lara gave Daryl a smile. She knew at least one thing about Daryl and it was that he always meant what he said. He didn't say much, but when he did, it was always the truth. She admired that, even though it could sometimes be hurtful or irritating. "I think we should wait here for them. Besides, I don't really think you're really in any condition to chase anyone down right now. Come sit in the truck with me." She tugged on his sleeve a little, trying to lead him to the pickup. Andrea gave the Governor an indifferent look. She was going to draw this out. Maybe she could make him feel bad. Maybe then he'd buy her story and it would be a piece of cake to cut his throat open. She sat in the chair behind her and watched him with a waiting expression. Merle led the girl into the chambers. The darkest part of Woodbury. All kinds of weird shit happened in this room and he knew it was no place for anyone. He led her to a chair in the center of the room and forced her to sit. He strapped her in and then gave her a smile. It was his typical you're-screwed smile, but there was a hint of, not-totally-screwed in it. He walked away, twirling a knife in between his fingers. He closed the door behind him as he left. His semi evil smile melted into one that said he felt good about something. He had inspected that particular chair before putting Sam into it. The straps were rather worn. It wasn't obvious, but if someone looked at it well enough, they'd see it. He'd originally planned to put Michonne or Andrea in it when the time came, knowing either of them would notice and find a way to break free. They would escape and put an end to the Governor's tyrannical rule. He was certain Sam was just as capable and he kind of hoped she'd do it and get away with it. Carol met with Tyreese at the gate again. "They aren't back yet?" She knew Rick and his small group should be back by now. She felt a pang of worry well up inside her chest. Something had happened and she knew it. The question was what? What had happened? Had someone died? Had they all died? She knew that last one was highly unlikely, but not totally impossible. The population of walkers was increasing daily. That alone was a major threat, but there was also the person she'd seen in the woods.
