Hmm, I do find it will be a good idea, my only inquiry to this design would be: What pros and cons are there to the different types? And does it all have to be Mech Play? 

I would imagine they are out of mech in Towns, Villages, general safe-zones honestly, but what would be the differences and the advantages to using smaller ones over the large ones?
