Space, the final frontier. Limitless potential lies beyond the stars. Each of those stars could have many worlds, every world could have a very different form of life, and every life has its own special story of his own. This is the story of how one apathetic god squandered all that potential by hosting a mafia party game in space, at a mansion floating through the vacuum no less. In this mansion, there are many things one would normally find in an ordinary mansion. A movie theater-sized library could be found at the back of the first floor, its shelves lined up with books from every century. To the right hall, a dining room lined up with smoking-hot food, despite them being left in the open. To the left hall, a familiar chandelier spread its ghostly glow across a gloomy ballroom, its light being the only source of illumination. And finally, the two grand staircases spiraling up to the second floor led to an exact number of nine bedrooms, with the numbers one through nine hanging from the door. In the desolate main hall of the mansion, just several yards from the main entrance, what was once an unnaturally quiet vestibule began humming with a ear-piercing low pitch. As the sound rise in volume, orbs of light began materializing into existence, and eventually, those orbs summoned forth nine individuals from across the planes of reality... --------------------------------- "I'm Kudo Shinichi, a high school detective. While at an amusement park with my childhood friend and classmate, Mouri Ran, I witnessed a suspicious deal involving a man in black. Since I was so focused on watching the deal, I didn’t realize his partner was sneaking up from behind me. He forced me to consume poison, and when I came to… my body had shrunk. If those men learnt that Kudo Shinichi was still alive, they’d come back to finish me off, endangering everyone around me. At Dr. Agasa’s suggestion, I hid my identity, and when Ran asked for my name, I blurted out ‘Edogawa Conan’. To find out more about those men in black - the Black Organization - I ended up living with Ran and her detective father. There were only a few trusted individuals who knew my identity; my father and mystery novelist, Kudo Yusaku; my mother and a retired actress, Kudo Yukiko; the western high school detective, Hattori Heiji; and my current classmate, Haibara Ai. Her true identity is Miyano Shiho. She was once involved with the Black Organization. But after her sister, Miyano Akemi, was murdered by the Organization, she decided to flee from them. By taking the same poison I was forced to… her body shrunk as well. The enigmatic Black Organization… I’m not the only one who’s secretly working to find out their identity. The Federal Bureau of Investigation – the FBI – was in hot pursuit as well. Half a year ago, they had managed to track down the headquarters of the Black Org., but it was a well-planned trap laid out for them… and my classmate, Mouri Ran, was murdered during the incident. It has been a long and hard battle. I’ve lost many friends over the past year; Ran, Ayumi… Dr. Agasa. But I won’t let their death be in vain. Even though my body has shrunk, my mind remains the same. One truth prevails, and I’ll die before I let the Organization continue doing as it wishes... That said, this will be my final message. If you are hearing this, I've failed, and I'm no longer of this world. Please... stop the Black Organization. I've gathered all the information on them in a USB cache hidden beneath Dr. Agasa's desk. Please use it wi-" Haibara pressed the 'stop' button on the audio recorder. Her visage displayed not a hint of emotion, not pity nor sorrow. She knew this day would come. Two nights ago, Haibara came to Dr. Agasa's laboratory, Shinichi's current place of residence, empty. The great detective had been missing throughout the two days, and she had only found this hidden tape recorder in the one place Shinichi knew she would look - her sister's strongbox, where Haibara would check every few weeks. Though the possibility of Shinichi merely being kidnapped had remained existent, she could tell he was going to hunt down the Boss of the Organization a week before she had found the tape. He had been tirelessly working to hunt down the Black Org. ever since Ran's death, and two weeks ago, he had learned of the location from a significant member of the criminal group, Vermouth, who revealed the truth on her deathbed. Haibara laid across the bed, the recorder rested against her abdomen. The lab was always been a quiet place, and it suited her just fine, but ever since the doctor's passing, the solitude became unbearable. She became even more accustomed to Shinichi's company than before, inadvertently gaining feelings for him. Not anymore. "Wherever you are, great detective-san... rest well. You've earned it."
