Species: Sirens are the darker side of merfolk, not necessarily evil or malicious, but far more likely to bear those traits. They can breathe both water or air, and their lower fins transform into legs when out of water. Their most prominent and disturbing physical feature is their teeth, which do not change between forms. They are long and needle-like, evolved for spearing fish. 

Class: Seamaster 
The seamaster is at home aboard a ship, with the wind at their back and salt spray in their face. A true maritime expert, the seamaster is proficient in sailing, water magic, and close-quarters combat.

Biography: Penelope is the daughter of a merfolk Duchess, and as such, grew up in a life of luxury with servants to wait on her hand and fin. However, her mother ticked off the King with so many sleights, he revoked her titles and land. The family is still living comfortably, but it's a step down from where they were. Penelope sees her time at the academy as a chance to start climbing the social ladder and regain her family's status.

Personality: The first thing people notice about Penelope is that she snarks with the best of them. Her natural instinct is to treat both bad news and outright danger with sarcasm. If one can get through her tough exterior, which isn't easy, she start feeling more comfortable around them. 

Strange abilities and traits: Sirens have an innate affinity for water magic. Powerful sirens have been known to dispel storms at sea and lift entire lakes from their beds, even turning their entire bodies into living water, but right now, Penelope's powers are barely enough to fill a small bathtub 

Hypnotic Song: All Sirens have a song that can hypnotize weak-willed members of the opposite sex. However, it will not work on mechanical lifeforms. 

Fears/weaknesses: Penelope often sets high expectations for herself, and berates herself if she fails to meet them. She also will not work well with individuals who aren't similarly driven. She's also afraid of being stuck underground.
