Kelly kept her eyes closed for most of the flight for fear of getting something caught in her eyes. She had her sound translator off and instead was listening to music through her headphones so she couldn't hear the air moving past them. She imagined if she didn't have the option to turn it off she would have ringing ears by the time she landed. Flying didn't scare her, she simply hadn't been prepared to protect her eyes from dust and stuff in the air. Before she had gotten on the griffin she had set off from her house after exchanging few words with her parents. They understood where she was going and her mother had been particularly excited to hear about it. She didn't want to make a huge deal out of it and left as soon as she could. She walked to the given destination as the one she was given wasn't far from her home. That was when she saw the griffin and watched it land with awe. She felt a chill as she passed through the Black Gale then the griffin took a dive and her heart skipped a beat. She hadn't been expecting it at all. She felt their momentum shift as they landed and she slowly opened her eyes to see she was in fact on solid ground. She got off of the griffin and looked around seeing there were others that were landing. She switched her music off and turned her sound translator on so she could hear her surroundings. She didn't really have any idea where to go next, so she simply waited for directions to come around.
