I had the idea that Ella and Stephen may have been close friends as children, and they drifted apart as they grew, maybe because of Stephen's growing feelings for her. Perhaps all four of them, Ella and the royal children, were closer when they were younger, and now just Ella and Avril maintain that close friendship. Just an idea that I wanted to run by you.
