What team b had found seemed like taken out of a nightmare, and Ryuu was cautious about approaching as close as they had at first, but then he noticed how the thing was creeping closer to the waterbender. He jumped in, burned the black tar till it retreated and patted the waterbender on the back. “Careful there, mate. I think we better re…” He didn’t get a chance to voice his suggestion before Avani shouted. “Goo fight, Kasai!!” She’d picked up some of the black stuff without a second thought, figuring it was too weak to do any harm to her, and was about to smack it on the Sergeant’s back. However, Kasai did turn before she managed to do it, resulting in Avani’s hand ending up in the middle of her bosom instead. Avani’s playful grin turned to embarrassment, blushing and soon horror when she realized her hand was quite stuck in the goo on Kasai’s chest. She pulled it away by applying a lot of force, but a ripping sound was heard as she did so. She’d managed to remove her hand and the goo from Kasai, but part of the sergeant’s uniform had come with it. “I really hope you were wearing something underneath that coat…” She whispered, flustered, while feeling her cheeks burned hotter than ever. Avani didn’t dare look herself to see if she had been, but who wouldn’t wear a shirt or something below their coat!? She didn’t get a chance to sink into the ground and disappear out of sight, which she wished to do, as the goo was now crawling up her arm and trying to engulf the whole limb. Avani tried her best to remove it, but nothing worked and in the end she had to punch her arm deep into the earth, using her bending to tear the goo off of her. Her arm came up scarred, wounded and bleeding, but the black goo was removed. She cried out and stepped away, pulling off her own coat to use it to stop the bleeding. Mio opened her bag and was about to take out the bandages that had been in the crate, but that was the moment the rest of the black tar entity decided to attack them all in unison. It shot out long tentacles at them and spurted goo as if it was using it as a projectile weapon. Mio’s clothes were stained as she had been unprepared to defend herself. Ryuu did manage to avoid the goo and fight back, but it was clear that he would only be able to defend himself. This monster was beyond anything he’d even seen before. He had no idea how to counter it, fire seemed to work for a short moment and then it attacked with even more tenacity shortly after. Avani’s arm was bleeding, but she’d tried her best to quickly tie her coat around it to stop it from getting worse. She could feel she’d done a bad job at it when she fought off the goo spirit. She was able to momentarily push it back with large walls of earth, but she felt her energy fading faster than it should be allowed too. “We need to fall back.” She meant to shout, but her voice didn’t carry that much strength at the moment. “Oh really, Ava!?” Ryuu shouted angrily. “I was just about to suggest we retreat before you decided to grope Kasai.” “It was such an opportune moment, bro. Don’t tell me you wouldn’t have done the same.” She laughed, coughed, then remembered that Kasai was right there and shut up. Ryuu had lowered his guard too much by getting angry at Avani, and he felt something impale him from behind. One of the black tentacles was sticking out of his stomach. Avani could only look on with fear. Mio acted by cutting it in half with concentrated airbending. The severed tentacle fell apart into more of the black substance.
