Name: ??? Codename: Don Fantasma (Fantasma is spanish for ghost and gender-neutral) Age: ???? Gender: Male Ethnicity/country of origin: Spain Appearance: A pale, tall, thin man whose face is perpetually hidden behind a white mask with a large, smiling mouth marked in black and big, black holes for eyeballs. It’s rather unsettling. His black hair, however, is visible and he keeps it short and perpetually slicked black. He usually dresses in an all-black suit with a white shirt, red tie and black gloves, shoes and a flat cap. Rank: ? Method of getting powers: Gene therapy? Experiment or recruit?: Experiment? Powers & their limits: -Intangibility: By vibrating his molecules, Fantasma can phase through solid objects. It’s taken practice to learn how to do this while including his own clothes and small items he carries as well as maintaining proper grounding, and it takes conscious effort to extend the effect to anything larger than, say, a dictionary. Extending it to another person is quite trying, but doable for short periods of time. While phasing, Fantasma’s body becomes diffuse and he’s practically immune to all harm and impossible to harm through physical means. Of course, he’s unable to harm or interact with things in any meaningful way in return. Since he can’t breathe while phasing through solids, there’s a limited amount of time Fantasma can stay within them and he can’t see through them while doing so. Extremely dense materials such as Aegium or Toramaru’s body are harder to phase through, requiring more effort. Phasing through a person is a rather uncomfortable experience for the “victim” and gives them a strange sensation not unlike a low power electric shock surging through their body. Machinery that is phased through will suffer small, momentary malfunctions. Extremely dense beings such as Toramaru will experience it not as a surge of electricity but as if they’re wading through water. -Invisibility: By vibrating but differently, Fantasma can make himself invisible. It doesn’t cancel out any noises he might make and he can’t both be invisible and phase. Much like with his intangibility, he can extend this to others by touch, and it takes less effort in comparison. -Vibroweapon: By using his vibrations in a different manner, he can enhance the effectiveness of his martial arts or extend the effect to a weapon made specifically to tolerate the vibrations, enhancing their effectiveness well beyond the limits of what he can do with his body alone. He can’t do this while phasing or becoming invisible, however. -Vibrant mind: His powers have had two effects on his mind, they have greatly heightened his reflexes and response time and have made it quite difficult to contact him with telepathy. Unless great pains are taken both from the telepath and from Fantasma himself to smooth out communication, the only result will be a constant, dull buzzing noise. -Supersoldier: Ostensibly a result of the gene therapy he was subjected to, Fantasma is deceptively athletic for a man his size, and he claims he received extensive spec-ops training, though of what nature he has never said. Nevertheless, he is an accomplished covert soldier. Personality: An affable man, polite and soft spoken, who nevertheless has a very clear, idealistic idea of what a hero should be and do, though he recognizes the seriousness of the situation at hand and isn’t entirely against killing. Backstory: Nobody’s sure who or what Don Fantasma actually is, and they've tried to find out. There’s no records of him, no real name, no one’s ever seen his face. There’s a number of conflicting theories such as being an escaped secret weapon of Francoist Spain, an attempt to create a perfect genetic soldier by the military dictatorship of Francisco Franco and funded by numerous totalitarian movements and extremist cells across the world, or that he was in fact created by the ETA in opposition of Franco but he was considered too dangerous and unreliable and was thus kept frozen in storage until he was freed by a power failure during the alien invasion. Some even say his origins stretch even further back, and that he was in fact some kind of spanish soldier, conquistador or nobleman of days past and that he was brought back to life by strange sorceries, but that’d be ridiculous. Now, his preserved body being experimented upon for being one to naturally manifest special abilities causing him to come back to life, or cloning the body to create a living superhuman, that’s only slightly less ridiculous. Whatever the case, he turned up one day after the world powers began recruiting those with powers, introducing himself, simply, as Don Fantasma, a superhero. Equipment: -Cane: A straight wooden cane, black and polished with silver caps top and bottom as well as a silver ring marking the “handle”. Made from rare Yekralam wood, which serves as a high quality natural conductor for Fantasma’s weaponized vibrations. Already an incredibly sturdy cane, when it is empowered by its wielder it becomes a surprisingly powerful bludgeon, capable of smashing through metals or knocking people away with ease, and it gains the ability to deflect all manners of assault. -Navaja: A traditional spanish folding-blade fighting and utility knife. A mean thing, razor sharp and surprisingly large and long-bladed for what is essentially a pocket knife. When used to channel Fantasma’s weaponized vibrations it becomes capable of cleanly slicing through reinforced metals with a single stroke. -Mask: A plain white mask with big round black dots for eyes and a pleasant smile marked in black for a face. It's rather offputting but not actively terrifying. It just won't come off.
