|========| |-Desiara-| |========| Star - Capital Square - Military Fort, Circle - Major City Triangle -(The thing in the middle of the map) Temple Desiar - Named in 75 AF, it is one large section of land housing a single kingdom. Desiar Mainland - The beautiful plains of the Desiar mainland house the entire kingdom. The plains are barren, making great crop fields but little to no trees. On almost every side there are mountains that are nearly impassible. The only known safe routes past the mountains will bring you to one of the three military forts. Each military fort is actually a house of Desiara. In the dead center of the kingdom, you will find the holy temple. Three major cities surround the temple and the kingdom only has one coastal city. Population - Five million Government - Each house has a council of three, the ruling house getting two extra members and their leader is king. The king has official say in everything, the house's councils run one of the three major cities and their leader runs the military fort. Think of it as three kingdoms united under one king. At any time one of the houses can challenge the king if they feel he has grown weak. This may only be done once per year, by each house. The king runs the capital alone and the coastal city is run by the temple. (Think monarchy but with no royal/noble blood.) Exports - Granim (Wheat), Fibis (Cotton), Corn (Maize), Beans(Bolita), Bread(Dhurah), Apples/Pears/Peaches, Iron(Teosin), Titanium(Kion), Stone(Igoke), Marble(Pelso), Gold(Erith) Imports - Wood(Wacol), Tons of wood, Coal(Bhuta), Silk(Sprol), Cloth(Qep) Allied kingdoms - Enemy kingdoms - National Color(s) - Pure black and Scarlet History (AF=after fall of Altrania) 0-100 AF - This mountain ring houses two families. One was a mercenary band, the second, a tribe war chief. No one is certain how they got there or even when, but they settled down in the same ring. After six months of peace the rivalry broke out(15AF). Both houses wished to control the entire mountain ring. The war raged for years, until a Donima army marched into the land and claimed it for their own(44AF). After five years of war, a Donima commander managed to deal a critical blow to both houses, thus ending the blood conflict(49AF). After twenty five years of peace he named himself king and claimed the entire land to be his(74AF). He was the first king of Desiara. It took thirty years to make the entire government. 101-200 AF - The other two houses did not take kindly to this declaration and sought to end the newly formed third house. Allying each other, this started the first civil war(105AF). As the outside world ignored the savages known as Desiars, the civil war came to an end, all three houses lost everything(147AF). The king wished to fix his kingdom and reformed the monarchy to a new government, one ruled by all three houses(156AF). Finally the kingdom of Desiar came to a peaceful age. New forts and towns where built, villages brought into the kingdom until it had grown to a respectable size. 201-300 AF - This century was the Golden age of Desiar. They invented many things, where recognized by the rest of the world, and even start trading. The bloody conflicts had come to an end. The third house starts become weak, as the new generation is not battle harden like the generations before. 301-Present - The golden age has just ended and the third house was challenged. The first house is the ruling house now. This is the first change of power since Desiar was created. It marks a new era for the kingdom and her people. Religion/Customs - They have many different religions, one of which comes from an island nation. Their kingdoms biggest religion is Geth, or the god of Gethlif(Life) and Teliko(Intelligence). Warriors also prey to Tu, the god of honor and bloodshed. Warriors prey before and after battle. Civilians prey to Gret before any major event or life changing decision. Military - A nation with a bloody history of war of savagery, this kingdom was built for defensive wars. Being able to last years upon years when cut off from the ocean and being rich in metal and food, most never dare to attack Desiara. Along each mountain top there is a beacon, along with a Trasign. It is lit if any enemy army is seen moving into our territory. Each city has two layers of walls, outer wall extremely thick and made of stone, inner wall made of titanium. The forts have three walls, outer wall is stone, mid-wall is iron, and the inner walls are titanium. Each city has its own army and the same for each fort. (The capital is considered a fort, all walls titanium) Tech - Titanium walls, a large improvement over the old iron walls, the new walls can withstand cannons as well as fire. The only way to breach the wall would be sciences or you would have to scale the wall and take it by force. The houses have also come up with several different types of armor, only one being able to withstand a musket shot. (Rumors are a more powerful musket has been developed.) Trasign, used to mass kill any army that dare get to close to our mountain range without show signs of peace. It magnifies the stars, causing fire to shoot out of the weapon. It is large like a cannon but uses much more science. Strengths - Extremely defensive - Never once since the development of the Titanium walls has any city or fort been breached. Desiar is the picture of defense, even their soldiers fight to save lives, not gain glory. Huge trade - Desiar makes most of its coin through trade. It exports every thing from metal to food, making any nation that would blockade the trade routes look bad for raising the prices of lots of common goods and even some rare goods. Weaknesses - Extremely defensive - Not only a good thing but a bad thing as well, the armies of Desiar have never won a battle outside of their territory. Every single soldier is aware of this and thus making them nervous and easy to moral loss if attacking enemy territory. High value target - While making huge amounts of coin from trade, for every one coin, two are lost. Pirates have become increasingly troublesome, constantly raiding the trading routes on sea and land.
