When I hover over it, the url given is the same as the url I am on. Try below:

As that now works, the problem was simply incorrect BBCode. Note the lack of a space in the corrected url vs the space in front of the url in the faulty link. The whitespace clearly causes the link to be parsed incorrectly and thus it reverts to the current page.
