He should be home helping you with your powers. Instead he's off who knows where doing who knows what. It's like he doesn't care about you."

Truth was he didn't like Kaya's father. He was never at home and thusly wasn't there to help his daughter out when she needed help. Bryant had been more helpful for her then he had ever been and it really bugged him. Why couldn't the man take some time off to help his only daughter?

When he had kids he'd be there for them as often as possible. He wouldn't leave for long periods at a time and would train his children if they had the same powers as he did... why the hell was he thinking about children again?
