Agreed. I was thinking of making a character who mainly uses two daggers, but for a longer range would use throwing knives. She'd be pretty skilled at them and would be very fast, but wouldn't have much strength. Though she'd have plenty stamina. Might this character be acceptable or should I change?

So looks like we got plenty of interest up. When are we gonna get an OOC / a character profile layout? I'm ready to get going :D

To elaborate on my previous idea, I was thinking of a really big character with a huge mace who primarily uses brute force in fights, yet despite this is actually really intelligent and well-spoken. Posh, even. Does that sound good?

Hmm... I may tie my character's backstory to yours, depending on what direction you go with it when you flesh it out. The huge character and the tiny character makes an iconic team, and it's an interesting twist on things for the muscle to also be the brains :P

Also looking forward to an OOC/character sheet. Admittedly, imp was originally going to use cheap throwing knives, but can probably switch them over to a bomber tactic.

That does sound like a recipe for fun and profit. I was thinking that my character became a mercenary (after an unfortunate series of events), and would probably stumble upon the ruins where your crazy savage Halfling makes her home. ...Huh, apparently 'Halfling' gets automatically capitalised here. I didn't notice that before. :V

Hmm... could be that your character met mine in the ruins, and much like dealing with a wild animal, managed to earn a bit of her trust with an offering of food. Could also be that they've known each other longer than the other people in the RP, and he has a much easier time understanding her broken speech and animalistic body language.

I might make an older character who actually relies on his skills and experience in battle rather than strength or speed.

I agree; they make for especially interesting backstories, too. I like your idea, as well. I can see our two characters travelling about the place, kicking arse and not chewing gum because it hasn't been invented yet. But if they had some gum, they'd be all out of it.

I see stuff about jungles and ruins mostly. I was thinking of a wild mage. A shaman hermit who encounters the others where the jungle meets the ruins.

I may need to drop the imp then, since seeing zero citydwellers.

Oh, if there's no city-dwellers, maybe I'll fill that roll. I'm trying to absorb information, but it's hard because I'm not sure what's been decided for sure. Is it possible for anyone to give me a quick, comprehensive overview? I'm thinking, for a city dweller, a sort of "magical scientist." Goes into the ruins(?) to study older arcane secrets.

Well it's possible that there are citydwellers in the thread already, just no one's explicitly said so yet and it's begun to worry me. To my knowledge, the jungle port city built on the ruins of a past civilization has been confirmed. Only limits on species I've seen is 'be reasonable' (e.g. no full-grown dragons).

The current idea is that the city itself is built into the ruins, and only some of the ruins (most of the city area, minus the fringes / underground) are safe. The ruins used to be a sprawling port city, the surrounding environment outside the city is jungle but the wilderness has been slowly growing over the ruins so a lot of the outer ruins are pretty overgrown. The civilization that originally built the ruins was extremely powerful, and some of their ancient spells are still in effect, doing such things as holding towers or large chunks of land floating above the city. Some of these have been reached and inhabited, usually with rope ladders and bridges, others haven't been able to be reached / entered yet and are still total mysteries.
