Name: Harper Hudson Alias(s): H, Hellscream, Havoc, Hazard, Hurricane Age: 24 Affiliations: Former member of Merc team Demolition Detroit Current free agent Faction Contracted by The Underground Movement Description: Reference In the buff Harper stands tall at 6'3 with long limbs and a lithe frame all wrapped up in, currently, ghostly pale skin. At a glance there are a few things that overtly stand out about Harper's otherwise normal appearance. If one were to look at him, one would notice that his wrists, palms, and even his inner cheeks have an additional vein which holds a green hue visible even through his skin. Harper has a third eyelid that snaps over his eye before jaunting and when his eyes would be in danger from either particles in the air or while underwater. This eyelid protecting his eyes while reducing the light sensitivity of his eyes greatly. When Harper flashes a grin, one would never know what to expect. Above his teeth lies a retractable line of fangs which are a by-product of his infestation power. The holes in his lips, septum, and ears have mostly healed up where he once had piercings. Scars are visible all across his body from his feet up to his neck and beneath his hair, which is a result of his heightened regeneration which tends to produce scar tissue for the quickest recovery. Everyday clothes Harper's outfit is less of a display of his personality and more a display of functionality. His get-up was simple. Loose-fitted cargo pants with zippers added onto the pockets where he'd keep an iPod Touch filled with images of places throughout the world which would allow him to freely jaunt from place to place, a grey long-sleeve shirt with long johns beneath if it were cold outside, a pair of black gore-tex boots with steel toes, and an olive green cap with an orange patch of the letter "H" that rarely left his head. His hair would typically be kept short, though it was rarely well cut, Harper doing the cutting himself with either a pocket knife, a pair of scissors, or a razor. Powers: Jaunting Jaunting or "Instant transportation from one point to another" is one of Harper's traits that he is most immediately recognized for. The rules for it are simple; You must have a sense of where you are, know where you're going, and have an image of where you're going in your head. Jaunting can be temporarily made impossible if Harper sustains a concussion. Jaunting is immediate and by the time he is no longer visible from where he has jaunted, he has become visible at his destination. Infestation Harper has some reservations regarding his ability to infest an organism. To deliver an infestation Harper must deliver a bite from his secondary row of teeth which injects a toxin into the blood of his victim. Depending on the dosage of the bite, the effects will differ. A simple chomp with daze and confuse a subject for seconds to hours depending on their susceptibility to toxins. A bite for several seconds will put the subject in a catatonic state for several hours to several weeks. A bite for upwards of twenty seconds will turn the target into a living bomb, the toxins welling up in the heart before causing the heart to rupture. Unless the bite is directly delivered to a vein or artery, the effect will greatly diminish. Corrosive glands In H's palms, wrists, and inner cheeks reside corrosive glands which when split open produce a highly corrosive acid capable of easily eating through metals. In order for the glands to be opened Harper must either cut open his palms, wrist, or bite open the glands in his cheeks which is still incredibly painful for the meta-human. Outside of his body the acid will quickly lose its strength, lasting no more than ten seconds once it is excreted from his glands. Seeker Harper is hyper sensitive to other meta-humans, being unusually aware of where they are and how powerful they are. This is achieved through his heightened sense of smell and he claims all meta-humans inherently smell different from regular humans. The weakest meta-humans smell vaguely like wet paint while the most powerful meta-human he's detected smells of sunflowers. Aberration Harper's body fortunately has mutated along with his powers, which otherwise would have torn him apart. His body is capable swiftly regenerating from an injury to skin, muscle, or organs though his wounds leave scars much more severe than the average person due to the rate at which he regenerates. Regeneration also makes him incredibly hungry and depending on how heavily he is wounded, his hunger can become maddening. Harper once cannibalized a man after nearly losing a limb to an ambush with a grenade hooked up to a trip-wire. His regeneration went into overdrive causing him to lose all self-control. His eyes have an extra eyelid that shields his eyes to protect them from environmental factors and from his jaunting and when the eyelids emerge his light sensitivity is greatly reduced, as is his sight. His throat also shares a commonality with alligators, having a palatal valve that can seal to prevent toxins or water from entering his lungs. His strength and durability are both well above Olympic grade athletes. He can carry over twice his body-weight and is capable of jumping six meters. A well place punch or kick is typically enough to shatter bones in the average man. His reflexes have developed alongside his speed and strength, giving him an immense advantage over regular humans, though physically he is on par with most low-B rank meta-humans. Mental Fortification Harper has the misfortune of being a low-level low-control telepath. He's in a continual state of being aware of every being that has a brainwave around him, though he is incapable of delving into their minds. Harper's leading theory to this is that while it doesn't help him find information or pry into people's brains and take advantage of them, it acts as a continual alarm system to every organism around him. From his former life as a mercenary he was informed by a mid-level telepath that whenever they tried to pry into his head, they were met with a wall of white-noise that only amplified the harder they tried to delve into his head. Skills: Skilled chef, Hiding in plain sight, creating body mods, tattoo artistry Equipment: Only what he has on his person and roughly $300 in 20's wadded up in his left pocket. Ranking: F to a high A, depending on how many of his weaknesses are being exploited Brief History: We all make mistakes. Becoming a mercenary is what Harper regards as his biggest mistake in life. He first became aware of his powers in a fight when he was fourteen. He emerged with a bruise beneath his right eye, the boy he had a scrap with left on a stretcher, catatonic and missing a hunk of his wrist. Harper had been taken over by a purely animalistic rage the moment he had been hit and the following moments were a blur. After seeing the damage he caused he thought of home and wished to be there, away from the bloody mess that once resembled some boy's arm and like that, he was home. Standing on top of his bed to be precise. He ran away from home that night when policemen came to his house with a warrant for his arrest. It was the last night he saw his family and the last moment of his normal life. What followed was nothing more than a flurry of hell. He had found a place in a mercenary group that sent him on job after job and for years he carried on with the work, unquestioning and obedient. Snuff jobs and Harper were practically synonymous with the Demolition Detroit mercenary company and with every job Harper was becoming more and more of a nightmare for both his targets and his keepers. The heads of Demolition Detroit kept Harper in control for the first six years of his employment, during which her had earned the nicknames Hurricane, Havoc, Hazard, Hellscream, and his personal favorite; H. A fight broke out among the mercs one night over payments and in an effort to control the situation Harper had been ordered to calm everyone down. Three bodies and one literally disarmed telepath later Harper was subdued by the three leaders of Demolition Detroit. Unbeknownst to Harper, the leaders began discussing what they should do with Harper after the incident and came to an agreement. Getting him the fuck out of town for good was the unanimous agreement.
