Xander let the topic of breakfast drop, a more calm and perceptive emotion waltzed across his face before settling to his usual piercing demeanor. He watched Akauta carefully, bowing his head respectively when she let him off the hook for any missions. He was much more careful around Akauta. Contrary to the other two magicians, Xander was a fresh recruit magician despite his feudal upbringing. This meant he meticulously controlled his countenance around the princess, lest he lose the small amount of trust he had gained, for he knew very little of Akauta and could rely only on himself to uphold his family name. "Thank-you for the recreational time, Commanding Officer Akauta." He thanked her, his subtly mechanical pattern of speech showing through slightly. After lifting his head from his submissive posture, Xander turned to Ryan, readying a carefully constructed response in the positive. Eilis beat him to the punch, following her request to look after an acquaintance of hers, the bookstore manager, if Xander's memory held true. Xander turned to Eilis, gauging her expression as she requested him, deciding the urgency of the matter. He assumed it was not only a matter of protection but the trust between the two; thus, Xander placed the task as one of his highest priorities. He acknowledged both the question to spar and the request to protect Mr.Ika in one curt nod, though his features were slightly softer than usual, molded slightly in subtle mirth. "I would be ecstatic to spar with the two of you, by Commander's good grace I am free until she requests me. As for Mr.Ika, I will do my very best; though, please do not feel the need to treat me, I understand you are busy; guarding Princess Akauta is no small matter." Xander assured Eilis, before turning to nod to Ryan as if to sayby my pleasure.
