I almost have my post done; but, I just got $20 steam card and $20 PSN card (I might spend it on eps. of glee or a new show). Looks like that I am able to get the last DLC on Victoria 2! What other games should I get that are like those games?
If you don't got CKII, get CKII. If you roleplay that game, you end up with the most amazing shit.

I am not such that I am able to play it or not. Will the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 card work?

I couldn't tell you, but I think CKII is more memory/processor heavy that it is graphics heavy. Victoria and EU only keep track of the detailed information about nations, but CKII has to keep track of similar information for an exponentially growing number of characters.

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/Requirements/crusader-kings-ii/11260?p=r Here's the minimum requirements. There should also be an option for you to have the site evaluate your computer, and tell you if you meet the requirements or not. Edit: The part that says "Click here to see your results" under the "Crusader Kings 2 Minimum Requirements" header.

Good news, everyone! I finally got my first post as Mexico in, and at just over 18,000 pages, I think that's a record for me. :D Also, if you're looking for a good game, I apologize; I don't exactly have any good recommendations. Maybe you could try the Zoo Race? It's a classic struggle between the human mind and all the forces of hell that would seek to ravage it, drag it down to the deepest depths of insanity...also it has Jesus. I think.

So, quick question. Is my rescue of Lawrence Williams from Canada still canon, or did that get scrapped when we moved to the new forum?

I assume you mean characters, not pages. In regards to the whole technology debate, I would say much of the magic of Precipice lies in its realism. If we shouldn't have a weird zany Floridian republic with super advanced jets because it's not realistic, then surely some gradual technological progress should happen because staying in the 1950's forever would be not realistic? The entire concept is based around alternative history, and though to make a good story obviously requires that sometimes be ignored there should be a balance between the two extremes. I feel like nations should be able to develop technologies such as jets or rocketry or what have you (obviously not nukes) if they are reasonably sized and reasonably well developed over a period of time, given an ample amount of time dedicated to explaining it's development, as I have with my little experimental rocketry project since 1976 (and probably destined to last until whenever the next timeskip is or the one after that). And nations such as Prussia should be able to develop them even faster. I don't see why Hugs couldn't at least have really basic jet technology and refine it over time. I just feel that the technology restrictions should be a little less intense, and should go with Gorgen's suggestion of gradual progress over time as this RP continues to progress into the future. I'll post as soon as I finish House of Cards, probably tomorrow.

Honestly, I think Prussia should be able to, at this point, at least be in the early development stage for jets. I honestly think that, maybe except for France (but they're an NPC), Prussia is the only country in Europe other than Spain that could currently handle taking that task on. As much as I would love for Britain to be at that stage also, with all the country has been through, I don't think that they're anywhere near capable to even consider the idea. So it's not like I'm saying it to improve myself or anything. I just realistically see at least Prussia being able to begin on jet tech. That said, I will now begin writing my post of said Brits struggling to even take on South Africa.

Oh no, I mean entire pages detailing the rise of Mexico amongst the incredible nations of the globe. Literally several volumes have been in the works for several years now, all preparing for this moment.

The quantity of text isn't an issue, I'm sure. Many people within this RP love to make huge posts, but they are not mandatory. @Rare: You could theoretically get Europa Universalis 3, I am sure you couldn't manage 4 since it is even younger than CK2.

If it can be managed cleverly and respectably, than tech updates can be done. If there is any hint or sign that it might be done for self-advancement, it shouldn't be done. And this is a ridiculously narrow window for me. VX was acceptable because it meant a brutal alternative to nuclear weapons that came with its own moral questions, horrible scenes, and flavor. Aaron's spy-plane is acceptable because it means you get these almost-impartial godlike commentary on shit going down around the world. Hug's massive zeppelin aircraft carriers were acceptable because they were unique as hell and gave Prussia an air of power without using cliches. The limited jets are acceptable because, partially due to how few they are, they put some weight behind the images of China and Spain as the only superpowers. This is the criterion for acceptable tech updates. They have to add something to the spirit of the thing while also making sense. If it all breaks down to "I should have jets because it is possible if you think about it." Or "I should have jets because it will make my country look cool." then I really don't think you should be given that sort of tech. The worst thing you can do is start out by trying to simply show off how important or bad-ass you are, because then nobody will give a shit. In the past we let people have a little more breathing room in these things and they responded by fucking up the cannon with the least interesting storylines and characters they could pump out while just jacking off about how important they must be because of all their tech and borders. Now we know better and we restrict these things more. Make something without crazy tech and maybe later you will be allowed to do some crazy tech.

Sooner or later, though, we need to loosen the technological bottle-neck a bit. I ultimately agree with the concerns, and I personally don't even like writing about modern tech, but it only makes sense that technology advance by itself a bit every now and then.

Would there still be old Tsarist Russia weapons floating about? And more importantly, did Russia have anything unique?

1) Probably. 2) I don't think so. But you can probably make up something they invented at some point that is still old and shit.

It'll do so on its own I'm sure. The point I am making is the "It needs to happen eventually" situation is too easy to exploit, so these things will be heavily regulated. Like I said, if you can pull it off in a way that looks good it'll be allowed. If you want to be important and get concessions, focus on writing things people want to read.

Given Unit 731 features in Chinese history and they were created to try and find a way to counter Russia we can assume that Russia maybe have a chemical/biological weapons division. But I got enough things on my hand to explore in Russia then to somehow discuss or imply the Russians have a seriously mean chemical or biological weapons store.
