So it's not that there shouldn't have been a fight, it's that it happened far too soon?

It's not just the fact that Geni dropped a nuke a little too soon, we've also got someone who was revealed to be the daughter of an Atlas General which she wanted hidden, someone who mentioned they failed there entrance exam and someone who let slip they forged there papers to Beacon. Too much way too soon.

In fairness, this isn't a secret. All of BAST failed the exam. They got in by virtue of unofficial conduct, and even that was pretty contentious between Ozpin and Goodwitch from the look of it. It's not that it's secret, it's just that no one really knows because it just happened. Staff (as noted by Port) know and while the students haven't been told, it's pretty easy to guess that there's something up there. A whole team of freshmen, none of whom were present at or mentioned in the team announcement ceremeony/event/whatever you wish to call it? The exact truth isn't known, but a little thought and a few questions would turn up that particular fact without much effort.

No that fact isn't really the important part in her backstory. I wanted to get that out of the way so I could work on the proper nitty gritty details which is how said position as a daughter of an Atlas General was affected when she made the decision to move to Beacon.

Drop it like it's hot; Grimm Studies needs more drama. So whose tragic backstory do we need to reveal to get on Amort Class' level? >:O Jayden's backstory is pretty cray cray. I have it planned though. Shit is gonna go DOWN when parents are able to visit their soon to be hunter children. >:O Whenever that is... I already be dropping hints and breadcrumbs for you guys. Wonder if any of you know what his past is like. :o Also, Lug, I dun missed the CS contest, I'm wondering if I can insert him as an NPC if I can find an excuse (OR MAKE HIM A TEACHER OH EM GEE) or if I should probs save him for a diff contest. ;o Probably PM him to you and see what you think works best? (I may or may not have grown attached to him *cough* as I am wont to do)

Sure, go ahead. I'm outright inclined to say reuse him for another contest, though.

Well once we start being able to have family visit is when Sapphire's backstory will start coming out. She is a very different person when her father or her sisters are around.

Do you really think that little of me? No, I gave him a reasonable, non-grimdark backstory. If anything, his backstory is disturbing in how not grimdark it is, considering that he did actually grow up outside the kingdoms and sleep on the ground.

Ivan's dad is actually a pretty chill and passive guy, and his younger siblings haven't gotten their older brother's rather angry outlook on life. In fact, Ivan probably shouldn't have turned out the way he did if he didn't take everything so seriously.

Indi's parents won't be visiting unless forced. They're neglectful, and simply throw money at him as a substitution for love and affection. He also has no siblings.
