I definitely wasn't trying to be rude when I said that. I just know that there are a looooot of young kids here (I met Shelton when he was really young, here). So, I know that for my 12 year old sister (the youngest age I have seen here), the concept of any sort of ecology or evolution would be super eh. More of a "whatever you say" moment lol
The rudeness did register, but I've given up on trying to read rudeness into posts at all, since alot is being lost without spoken words. Don't worry about it. I was just taking it that you had the wrong idea of the demographics here, in that the right idea is that we don't know what kind of demographics we have here. But there you go.
And I'm also not saying that anyone really knows (in the RP) that the virus or whatever it is, is actually anything to do with anything. Like Hershel, they might simply think it's an act of God. I wrote a short proposal about the science behind the Walking Dead, which is where my idea of an evolutionary device came from :) I also think that it would be interesting to play in their wake. Shelton would have a lot of fun with the whole idea of a good soldier in the middle of all of the bombing and needless killing that slammed Atlanta in the beginning :)
I was thinking a little after that, you know, after the rise of the walkers, but I guess that could be done too. Lots of flashbacks sequences and stuff like that. Imagine what it would be like, visiting the Vatos only to find them overrun? Or Hershel's farm? To find the stack of food that was meant for Sophia, or the prison in ruins? And of course, what our characters must think and feel about finding all this, and always remaining one step behind Rick's group. Who knows? Our characters could even be actively tracking Rick and gang, wanting to join up with them, but simply could not make it. Could be due to alot of reasons - herds cutting them off, or the trail going cold, or circumstances forcing them to take a different route.
