Brief History: Abernathy is a man that has kept his past secretive, he alludes to education at Brown and a brief stint in the USMC. He was apart of the DIA task force in hunting Ernesto Escobedo, Bin Laden, several others in the 1990's.

In 2002 the NID was set up and Abernathy became apart of it's leadership. Before Bush was reelected Abernathy was Director. Since then Abernathy was involved quietly in metahumans. In particular the he was a silent partner in many activities. He survived the scandal in 2015 which saw many politicians leave office, including the incumbent VP.

As of 2020 he is helping the current President with intelligence operations against metas and other threats and is trying to slowly make the reformists see his position.
