Haus
--- Age: 53 Gender: Male Position in the Fleet: Admiral Physical Description:
Admiral Haus has the figure and general physique of a career military man. Being still able to take down men twice his size and half his age in close quarters combat. Holding all members of his command to a level of physical excellence, he is man that leads by example rather than word and goes through the same physical readiness as everyone else. Having been quoted as the day he does not meet standards will be the day that he retires. He stands roughly at round 6'0" tall and seems to take up the entire room with his presence. His blonde hair had officially gone grey several years prior as he refuses to use dyes or any new age hair follicle replacements. His most striking feature would be his blue eyes upon which the icy blue gaze had not lessened in his years. Though other signs of age have shown up on his body: scars from active combat, reflexes having slowed down slightly, having to receive cochlear implants to replace inner ears damaged by the drones and tones of war. His doctors would be the first to inform him that he either had to slow down his lifestyle to slow the risk of complete breakdown, or stop being stubborn in his ways and allow them to perform the miracles of science upon him.
History/Background :
Haus was born on the Galileo Research Institute on Luna in the year 2621. Haus never knew his father, but the stories he gathered from his mother portrayed him as a military men such as himself; honest, caring, loving towards his wife and soon to be child. He died testing a new fighter as part of the Military Research Initiate when the experimental engine blew. Beside this small dent his childhood was generally uneventful. Living on Luna was not that exciting being surrounded by mostly scientists and researches most of the time and being home schooled by an advanced AI program. It was not until he was 10 years old that things changed, his mother got a new commission on the far reaches of human controlled space and feared for her child's safety out in the far reaches. So Haus was enlisted into The Sol Republic's Military Training Academy for Adolescents, the best of its kind. It was there where Haus' aptitude for command really shined; among the children of admirals, diplomats, generals, and other high officials. Everyday the Admrial had to fight to prove himself to his social betters and fight he did. Showing his affinity for science and combat leaderships in the dreaded "Meat Grinder" training simulations, Haus set his path to become one of the most respective alumni of the academy. At his graduation in 2639 he was offered easy commissions upon several fleet ships. It was at this time that Haus would make a decision that would cement his legend in the future. He rejected them all and rather followed the path of his father and his father before him. He enlisted as a normal grunt later that year, determined that he would rise through the ranks with his own skill rather than because of where he graduated from. Haus severed with a passion and skill, volunteering for high risk missions and never backing down from a challenge. Two years later in 2641 he received his commission and rose to rank of second lieutenant. Henceforth beginning his ascent up the chain of command. An act which brings him great respect from common service men and commissioned men alike, remaining a great feat of human determination. He finally became an Admiral in 2650 and tales of his exploits spread to the upper brass. He was offered every position imaginable, desk jobs where he could sit pretty with huge paychecks and never have to lift a finger again, titles and promotions. The admiral never accepted them, knowing he would never be able to give up his love of the stars. Navy life was what he was meant to do and he would do it until the day he died. In the year of 2673 he was informed that he would be given command over the newly forming Fourth Fleet. In the year 2674 the the fleet left for the edge.
Psychological Profile: Psychological Report received from the offices of Doctor Li'Shu, Department of Internal Affairs. Haus
I met with Admiral Haus in his temporary quarters here at the Shipyard. As he prepared me a cup of coffee he explained that he wanted to oversee the construction of the Fourth Fleet in person, believing that it being his responsibility he should witness it from birth to death. This sense of devotion is common place in all the tales and stories I've heard of him. In my observations gathered from my time with him, I can gather that these stories seem to be rooted in reality. By all standards he is what you would call an "officer and a gentlemen". The admiral displays an admirable level of compassion for his crew and all those beneath him and his a strong sense of duty and honor. He seems to be a very regimented man in his actions, always following the same schedule and never once daring to venture away from it. The casualty of living a military life I suppose, always having a plan and several backup plans behind that. While in private conversation one might not be able to guess his status and position from his generally amiable, and kind manner when it takes time to take charge he is another matter all together. Fearsome, strict, and unrelenting with the booming voice of his, I believe that if he tried long enough he could make a rock learn to juggle. This balance and separation between work and private states shows a general understanding and mental clarity that is good to say within such commanding officers. Though, I do have some worries about our Admiral. Primarily revolving the mental scars he may have received during the Arcadian Surge back when he was a second lieutenant. As most of you are aware, the Surge held some of the most brutal fighting against pirates seen in the Republics existence consisting of brutal trench and urban warfare that lasted for several months. Haus was able to repel the pirates but at the coast of all the men underneath him. Such an event would generally cause mental damage to those involved. Most other patients I've seen coming out of battles like the Surge and others like it have severe cases of PTSD and other mental issues. And yet the Admiral never got seen after the battle, never was analysed by a medical professional afterwords. When I tried to bring it up in conversation, I got dismissal answers and general refusal to talk about what had happened. Showing some mental scars may still remain. I also worry about the patients stubbornness. He is hotheaded and determined that things follow his direction or else, which may result in conflict with others and even harm against himself as he refuses medical treatments that could help improve his body greatly. He states that they "mess with his thinking" and that "he does not need a damn machine to do a humans job." I would look into this further, maybe some sort of traumatic accident in the past? Though weighing the negatives against the positives, I can safely say that the Admiral is fit for active duty. He is the best we have gentlemen and it would be a shame to waste his talents.
Goals: The Admirals goals are simple ones: to complete the mission, to get everyone out alive, and to prove to himself that he is still the best goddamn admiral in the Republic Relationships: To be determined Misc: N/A
