Well these are just ideas, but this is what I PM'd the GM a bit back:
So, I thought I'd get my thoughts out of my head before my day gets started and I ultimately forget them, plus it might be ideal to give you as a GM my thoughts on a vine: Idea #1 This is a character reinvention of Doctor Fate, where the idea is to take influence from adventure pulp serials of the early 20th century and take the character of Kent Nelson (or Inza Cramer) into areas that I think could pretty fascinating. I’m honing in on the fact Kent Nelson was originally an archaeologist, like his father, and keep running on the themes of chaos and order as these adventures take a sort of Indiana Jones feel as the danger seems to increase and the enemies of the Helmet of Fate just add more complexities to the character’s life. It’d have a dynamic and there is quite a lot of ruins to be touched on in the DC Universe in Khandaq and so forth. It would be really tricky to do these adventures in three post issues, though. Idea #2 Instead of pulp adventure this one is more to my love of film noir and detective films in general, but this time the character is the Martian Manhunter. I can focus on a variety of character crisis’s and even the hero’s aversion to fire when I take one of his key antagonists and twist them into an arsonist that makes a case J’onn becomes invested into the realm of fighting his tragedies and fears which ultimately sets up the foreboding precedent of J’onn’s brother who happens to be a little more crazy then is useful for society. Given my love for Bruce Timm’s DC Animated Universe we could also maybe play into a lot of cool Justice League scenarios.
Maybe you guys could give me some input. =)
