How about using a standardized format in our posts. For example, at the end of our texts:

[I]Weapon: Revolver
Hits used: ___
Hits left: ___[/I]

EDIT: Regarding the GM-allocated weapon loots, that sounds great. I love having to deal with ambiguity and random circumstances. Haha.
