Kibō-hosh, High Orbit
Jer'rahd watched as the Roman fleet was decimated by the Abh bombardment. The fleet was crippled, and while the Roa'marii fleet was still fresh and had yet to deploy troops, the prospect of taking the planet was looking slim. Perhaps had there not been another fleet which had been completely unaccounted for the Roa'marii could set up their blockade and finish the job of taking the planet. But alas, it would be more trouble than it was worth. The Roman fleet crawled back from the planet, sheltering itself behind the Roa'marii reinforcements. As they activated FTL drives and jumped from the system, Jer'rahd could do nothing but watch. Then, once the glow of Roman thrusters had faded, he sent out a message to the battle weary Abh planet. "I am General Jer'rahd Kaisur of the United New Roa'marii Empire. We had arrived at the request of the Romans to help in the blockade of this planet. Now that this is no longer a valid option, and our allies have seen it fit to use us as a distraction to escape with their tails between their legs, I will offer an alternate deal. We have no ill will for you or your people and care not for conquering your planet. Our troops were not deployed nor have we engaged your allied fleet in combat. We will leave this system if you so will it, but ask that you allow us to stay and hopefully establish relations past those of us being your enemy's reinforcement. If you do so, I would be honored to go down and meet with whomever leads this planet's defense to talk about a treaty. Please consider this. I'd rather not have come all this way for nothing." Then, messaging the unknown fleet still in the area, Jer'rahd spoke once more. "Unknown fleet, I ask once more that you identify yourselves. You appear to be allies to this planet's defenders, but I would like confirmation of this. We will not attack unless necessary, but confirmation that you are an ally would come as a great relief." Ending this, Jer'rahd looked once more at the planet below. Many sites had been bombarded, and some of the large cities had obviously received heavy damage in the invasion. Roman soldiers still seemed to be fighting, but with reinforcements no longer coming in it was a losing battle. The general hoped he could settle a ceasefire between the remaining Roman forces and the planet's inhabitants, but that depended on the answers he received from the Abh below.
Statue Garden, Arcadia
"Very well, then I will continue. As you can see, the statues here in the Garden show a multitude of different species, including Roa'marii. Most of these are statues of particular leaders of the various nations we have fought with over the centuries. Back when the original Roa'marii Empire was formed, it was a common practice to honor those enemies who proved themselves to be worthy opponents in battle. Many of the statues you will find in the back of the garden come from this period of time. It should also be noted that the garden is far larger than it would appear from the outside. It is my understanding that since ancient times, there has been a rather intricate series of enchantments and dimensional stretching if you will that allow this place to exist. Most statues in the Garden tell a story of the war they were made for or the species depicted. I will go over a few of the more recent ones with which I am familiar. They then walked up to a rather new looking statue. It depicted a tall spider-like creature in an attacking stance, one sharp limb extended out as if the statue were alive and trying to slice through the air in front of it. Closer inspection however would reveal that the limbs were not natural. They came out of a suit that the creature wore, it's natural body being thin and frail, yet covered in what appeared to be a suit of exo-skeleton like armor. The body inside would likely not have even been noticeable if not for the face mask and front chest plate being ripped off the creature depicted. Even still, the statue held a frightening degree of detail. "This particular statue is fairly recent. It was obtained during our war against the Saronian bounty hunters. They had been on the fringes of Roa'marii space for quite some time, taking jobs as bounty hunters. Their whole civilization thrives around it. Their leader, depicted in the statue here, was known by the Saronese as Lady Pestiferious. She decided to lead her bounty hunters on a raid into our territory. Naturally this was taken as an invasion and the military was dispatched to deal with her. She in turn rallied all of the Saronese against us. The ensuing war left us spread far, but eventually we forced them back to their home planet. When taking their main stronghold we captured Pestiferious and in turn crippled their government. While they destroyed the hold rather than let us take it, they quickly fell to infighting between their Top Spears. Many of my soldiers as well as those of the 42nd legion like to brag about the victory, but the truth is, the Saronese lost because of their governmental collapse. They fought harder and claimed more lives than any soldier in the Roa'marii Empire. It's too bad they had such a low population due to the slave status of the males of their race, or they would've made an excellent army force. But they refused to fight alongside us and would not keep to themselves." They then continued on to another statue, this one of a Roa'marii soldier, hough it was next to impossible to tell for sure due to the amount of armor he wore. The way the armor was layered made it look almost like the bones of some massive creature had been used to create it. The statue was looking straight up, as if watching something in the sky. It was kneeling down as well, submitting to the sculptor who had created it. "This statue is a fairly old one. It depicts the ancient Roa'marii General who we only know as Ruin. According to legend, he was one of the original Roa'marii Gods who became the first General in the old Roa'marii Empire. He was known as a berserker general for his uncanny ability to control the normally unstable berserker warriors, of whom I hear your son would qualify as were he to lose control of his powers. Past that, he apparently was able to get those under his command to follow him into any situation no matter how perilous. He was able to push further into enemy lines than any others. His recorded victory count has only been surpassed by the current general in his position, General Jer'rahd Kaisur. He and two of the other original Immortal Generals have statues in this garden. The other statues were broken long ago, despite the magical enchantments used to keep them from breaking. They must not have had the same level of care put into their creation as the others. You can see the broken statues if you wish, but they are not important. Now, let us continue."
Training Camp Lar'varis, Arcadia
The magical training for the Roman had been going well enough. The Emperor's son had been in the care of the Roa'marii Prime Magus Til'wathis. He had been training the Roman to use his powers during his time there. They were being watched over by the Roa'marii General Ble'reu Escal. General Escal was very different from the other Roa'marii. Due to her Godhood being naturally gained at birth rather than through ritual as the other generals had gained theirs, she had been contained in a research facility controlled by the Roa'marii's former captors back before the rise of the New Roa'marii Empire. In this facility she had been brutally tested on for years before being freed by the Nightmare Emperor and Jer'rahd Kaisur when they rebelled. The result of this testing left her body and mind severely mutilated, genetic implants transforming her, giving her scale-like skin and a natural resistance to intense heat. In addition to this, her hands had the ability to generate intense levels of electricity as well as absorb it. This was used mainly to power a large set of thrusters surgically added to her back much like the Valkyrie wings used by General Silvad. General Escal watched the training, an amused grin on her face. Normally she'd be out in the fringe worlds keeping an eye on the local populations, but she had been called back to attend to some duties on Arcadia. She was then dragged into watching over the training of this Roman in what was one of her specialties of magic. While her dragon magic wasn't nearly as strong as Jer'rahd's, it came far more naturally to her thanks to her augmentations and she was far better at explaining it to others. The Roman had been gaining a fairly decent grasp on the magic rather quickly considering he had only recently come to learn about it. He was already able to use the strengthening part of the magic to lift objects many times his weight albeit with slight difficulty. Eventually, he'd be able to wield some of the massive weapons Jer'rahd likes to collect. The things were practically useless in actual combat situations, but who didn't like swinging around a sword larger than themselves and weighing almost a ton with ease. Regardless, the training was going along well, and if it continued to progress as it was, the Roman would likely be sent out to the forests for some of the more dangerous training soon. Whatever happened, it was sure to be an exciting time on Arcadia with another berserker running around.
Cathacia, Arcadia
As the Abh Empress stood, the doctor watched nervously. When she explained her need to run, the doctor immediately rushed over to her and helped to steady her still weak body. Then she began to speak. "You shouldn't try to go anywhere. The Naga will not come for you here. The Queen's Cross is neutral territory and even the Naga abide by this. Our policy is to treat anyone, friend or foe regardless, and the Naga know this. They have raided this town before, and never have they attacked the hospital. Trust me, the safest place in the town right now is here. The Naga will take supplies from the people, but unless we openly fight back they will leave us alone. Besides, there are soldiers in this town ready to fight back if they try anything. You, however, are in no shape to fight. But, if you insist on moving, you can come to the lobby with me and wait there with the others." At this, the Doctor walked forwards slowly, still supporting the Abh Empress, towards the door and into the hallway. Other doctors and even a few patients could be seen watching from open doors. Down the hallway was the door to the lobby, pulled open and giving a view of the street outside. Naga could be seen in groups of three or four going from building to building, but as Doctor Ire'merok had said, none moved for the hospital. They watched as the Naga took various supplies back towards the tank, their leader still standing atop it.
New Rome, Magical University
The leading Roa'marii in the group stepped forward. She had long, bright red hair, quite obviously dyed its shade. Her body was very thin compared to other Roa'marii, yet she did not seem at all hindered by her slender figure. In fact, it gave her movements a feeling of fluidity that made it seem as if she were dancing with every step she took. Her eyes seemed to sparkle internally and her voice rang with a chime-like clarity that most who heard it would say was filled with beauty. Indeed, she was thought of as an incredibly beautiful woman by Roa'marii standards. She wore a standard set of Roa'marii light armor, although this was completely hidden underneath a robe of dark red that had been masterfully designed and crafted to her particular body. She smiled lightly, a calming smile as she greeted the Roman Scientist. "Greetings. I am Commander Sca'reta Direll, leading Commander of the 69th legion's magic users directly under General Rhe'deri Peltis. I will be leading the magic lessons here until our Prime Magus is able to make it here. I will also be the lead ambassador between our people here on New Rome. As for the artifact, I would like to know some additional information about it before we test anything. If you could show me and some of my associates here to it we would be grateful. I would also like to get to know the layout of this city better, particularly the governmental area. Now, if you would lead the way."
