Ansell Frock coat, cotton shirt, with black fitted bottoms and boots. Background Captain Glynn won Plunder's Compass in a card game. Up until then, he had not been a Captain, but another hired hand. He was a dwarf and known as a likeable lad, good in the crows nest ("because he fits so well" some joked) but never really settling for one Captain or one ship. There was only so many ways to become a Captain. One of which was to be first mate and inherit the ship on the previous one's death and another was to win one. Glynn wasn't stupid. he made sure he had the needed men to crew his ship before having one, and his first mate, Dawkins, was already well known and loyal to him. They came as a pair on hired excursions and though they had both been offered, many times over, to accept permanent hospitality of a ship, neither had been so inclined. Glynn needed muscle because he was a dwarf and wanted to keep his "likeable lad" image. He drank and womanised all through the game, laughing heartily and telling stories as the game progressed. But Glynn was not a stupid man, and nor was Dawkins, who stood still and silent by his side, moving only to allow one wench to leave the Captain or another to take her place. It was this acting that so often distracted the other Captains and crew members from Dawkins, whose had would be on Glynn's back, occasionally making pressures against it. It was their cheaters code, not for them to cheat but to spot cheating. Cheating and lying were part of any card game with Pirates, but only if you weren't caught. Then the dilemma started. If you accused another pirate of cheating, your brother pirates could side with you, especially if that Pirate had been winning a lot. After all, you'd split their pile between you. However, the declarer of such thing would then be seen as such and would be a dangerous person to allow to play again. Your brothers may also choose to side with the cheater, if you had been making no friends or if they too had been cheating and didn't want to be called on it. So you had to be a clever cheat. (ooc: still under construction) The storm that his ship was a harsh one, but The Compass had sailed through many a storm before. The Captain in always looking for fresh crew mates. Whilst he understands the needs for pirates to stick together, as they cannot sail away, without somehow coming back, they are pirates and therefore untrustworthy.
