Mortimer woke up with a loud yawn. He certainly did not like mornings. It was such a fuzzy time of the day, he was always sleepy and things seemed to be stressful. Pushing that negative thought to the back of his mind, the tall man stood up from his bed and put on his casual outfit and the same he always wore, with the exception that he had at least a dozen of those. He always wondered why he didn't change his outfit. "Alright old man, back to work I guess!" Shadow said, the crow was looking at him from the night-table. Mortimer shook his head and the crow flew to his shoulder. "I told you about that name...." he said softly. The crow simply tilted his head to the side and ignored him. Grabbing a sandwich that he had previously prepared the day before, he stepped out of his room and closed the door, then walked down the hall as he took small bites from the snack. 

Along the way he saw several students, most of which looked quite new. After all, a new year was starting. It was expected that more and more students arrived. After a while of walking, he stood just outside the principal's office. He notice a girl inside. Being good friends with the principal, he knew he had to share a few words with him regarding this year's plans. He stepped inside the office and closed the door, then he stood a few feet back Alexi, waiting for their discussion to finish.
