Copper coins exist as currency on Melenian Isles, but not Rodoria ... I am sort of inclined to think a random inn in Rodoria would simply not accept those (or any other coins but rodlin)... 

(In any case, it is still preferable that you left handling the NPC's Jack created to Jack.)
