I'm interested! I'm not sure what character concept I would go with, but I'm curious to see what kind of characters will emerge from an idea like this!
Well, Septic's telling me to give you examples with my characters. The first one is a seventeen year old teenager named Miriam. She's sassy and sarcastic and is a realist incarnate. She's in the late stages of cancer and is fighting a losing battle, with less than six months left to life. This means she's sickly, super pale, bald, is wheeled around in a wheel chair all the time, etc. In her zone, which is Zone One, she is an athletically fit, tanned, has long brown hair tied into a braid and isn't afraid to open up a can on whoop ass on you. That and she's entirely composed of solid ash and smoke, and can turn into it. She can control fire and the smoke itself. Think Delsin Rowe smoke powers except they don't need a charge, are used more creatively more often, and has fire as a backup. The second is a fourteen year old asian boy named Henry who is super smart, but struggles with his weight (He's 5'3 and 170lbs, for scale). He's funny and a nice guy but super insecure about himself. However, in the Zone, at least in REM stage (natural sleep) he becomes the hulking, neigh-unstoppable rage and hunger lizard monster capable of incredible physical feats that does nothing but hunt, destroy, and consume everything in it's path that's not a fellow zoner. You can get an idea of how that is in SepticGentleman's signature, which has Henry in his REM and human forms in it. EDIT: Keep in mind, while these characters are powerful we are going to be facing things just as if not stronger than us that also have numbers on their side.
