I imagine they would send military force to the canal zone in that event. That would supplement the men who would already be there to defend the canal during the war. They'd drive the Colombians off. What happens after that would depends on the size of the force and how involved the government was in the attempted seizure, but I don't imagine a flat out declaration of war and large-scale operations in Colombia.
