"Oh. Um, see you later?" Nick called after her. Pam soon disappeared out of the kitchen, and Nick was sure that he'd said something wrong. According to Lucas, someone was hunting 'strange' people down, and Lucas had mentioned that few came to Riverwood of their own volition. This meant that a lot of people must have had... bad experiences before coming here. And if the rumours were to be believed, then it wasn't exactly a topic to bring up at the breakfast table. In fact, he was starting to feel bad about bringing it up. He was sure that he shouldn't have brought it up, and he didn't know if he'd unintentionally hurt Pam or not. Nick quickly swallowed the rest of the toast and put the dishes in the sink, which he'd probably come back to wash later. He wanted to see check if Pam was alright or not first, and made for the door. "Well, thanks for the talk, Lucas, but I want to get some stuff too." Nick said, reaching the door. "We should hang out some time." He shot a smile at the boy and girl still in the kitchen and walked out quickly, following Pam.
