Jack had been up since before dawn. His men had awoken him when they made their changing of the guard and he had spent the early hours cleaning the muck from his armour and arms before doing his rounds of the defences again. This was his normal morning routine however he did end up getting court at one of the small camps near the watchtower. Whilst a Red Coat hadn't spotted the creature, the local militiamen had informed the company of his sighting almost immediately. Though Jack hadn't heard about it until being woken. It was strange news and would need investigation at some point, however nothing had seemed to come out at them and nobody had been even close to harmed so Jack was satisfied for now, though he would request that the amount of land cleared around the outside of the colony be at least made a quarter bigger. The workload would increase but safety would be improved, plus it would add a large amount of raw lumber to the dwindling stocks of the colony.

As the sun finally started to rise Jack was already waiting at the Circle. His men were stationed around the outside and the daunting form of the soldiers made their protection seem like a blessing as well as a jail sentence. As the bell rang and the colony awoke from their slumber Jack smiled roughly at anybody he passed him a glance. He respected most of them, having left a world they know to one they didn't. However his smiles all faded as he spotted the 'explorer' again. God did he despise that man. But he was on parade and as such kept his gaze and his words to himself. The envoy was a different matter. A pompous prick, if you asked Jack, however the prick also had some wealthy friends in his homeland and a small fortune was being paid into the Red Coats to pay special attention to his highness. Though they were also told not to tell him that. Hopefully the message would be over soon, Jack thought, a new boat was coming in a few weeks and he wanted to have an up to date report and request ready for it's arrival. Which meant scouring through finance and next of kin forms as well.
