But things changed when he was in school and strange things began to happen. Sometimes his hands would glow like a rainbow, other times they would glow a specific color and weird things would happen. One time his hands glowed red while he was turning a doorknob and it melted. Another time he was in a cafeteria and his hands then glowed blue and sent food flying everywhere. After several more incidents the school staff thought he was disturbed and the students viewed him like he was a freak. Charles didn't make any friends because of his problems, he didn't think of the idea of being more than just an ordinary human being. When he became twelve years old Charles was very alone and spent most of his time to himself. It was on a cold Monday morning in the winter that Charles almost met his death and discovered his powers. He had been biking home from school and there was ice on the road. Charles then quickly turned onto a side street and came directly in the path of a fast moving car that was driving dangerously. The driver tried to break, but the ice made the car's wheels slip and it was too late for Charles too get out of the way. He closed his eyes expecting to feel the incredible force of the car hitting him and splattering his body all over the pavement, but he felt nothing. Charles opened his eyes and was greeted by a sight that was uttterly shocking to him. He was hovering in the air about thirty feet above area where he had been on his bike and he could see his ruined bike on the road. Charles was in shock at the sight of seeing himself levitate that high off of the ground. He soon was able to get himself back down to the ground and from there Charles knew that he was different and had special powers. From there he began to unlock more of his powers and eventually was able to harness his rainbow aura to give him control over his flight. For Charles the feeling of being able to fly for the first time. Eventually he decided to put on a costume and become a hero after seeing many others take up the calling to use their powers for justice. He took on the name Spectrum and is now trying to make a difference by joining the group that seems to be doing the most good. For these reasons he has joined the Reformist Council and hopes to make as much of difference as he can.
