Pam gave a nod and a smile, before heading out. While it was true she needed to get some things from her room, she didn't head there. She didn't know why she didnt, and Lance just looked at her, as she stood as if deciding something, before moving down the hall. She just couldn't stop thinking about the fire. Had it been deliberately lit? Would she ever know? Would she ever find out if it was because people had hunted her? And why, why hadn't her parents listened to her? Those few precious hours could have saved them. They had never believed her abilities. And worse, she had been foolish enough to tell her parents at the store, where everyone could hear. And assumed she had set the place on fire deliberately. She shuddered, once, twice, three times. She could never go home. She had no home to go to in anycase. At the sound of footsteps, she looked back, seeing Nick. She blinked, surprised he had come after her. She stopped, waiting for him. "Sorry. It was probably rude to run off like that. I just...couldn't stay there" that was the truth, with the reasons omitted. She sighed softly "sometimes my abilities are burdensome"
