The teacher smiled a bit in response to Evangeline's response, scribbling a little something onto the end of the equation. [color=00aeef]"Good, good, I can see now that [i]everyone[/i] is paying attention."[/color] There was a strange tone in the teacher's voice, an emphasized static that almost rose and broke over the course of a second; it was unnatural. This unnatural tone only continued to grow, the man's voice distorted to greater and greater lengths as he continued to write. [color=00aeef]"Yes, very good. . . but that was only the warm-up problem. As you can see, the next question won't be so easy."[/color]

Even as the teacher spoke his hand scribbled at a furious pace, almost too fast to keep up with. The particular smell of burning/disintegrating chalk filled the room, accompanied by a growing cloud of white smoke. The equation on the board, it continued to grow to greater and greater lengths, the numbers and letters and symbols and, wait, was that an arm? The white residue on the board began to twist and distort, other-worldly tentacles and arms, eyes and appendages, they began to stretch out from beyond the blackness of the backdrop. 

[color=00aeef]". . . and there we go."[/color] 

The whole scene flashed back to reality. The equation on the board was a simple one. There were no longer any traces of the eldricht abominations that had, just so recently, been attempting to bypass the board and enter the classroom. By now even the regular students had perked up and taken notice. 

What the hell had just happened?

[color=00aeef]"Now, if I could get a volunteer to come up to the board and answer the equation?"[/color] For a moment, the air around the teacher distorted and there was a flash; it almost looked like some kind of tail.
