At some point, when the election happens, Deathedge will hope to become a vice-president as a first step in getting a more normal life. He has an anonymous fanbase (many of them affiliated with the people who made the Deathedge Chronicles) that will probably vote for him.

Also, he may not look or act like it, but Deathedge actually scores fairly high in his classes, despite claiming that he's a completely average person (he has a GPA of 4.3 at the moment). He's not perfect, but it does make sense for him to think about being a vice-president.
